In short: Steep hill is a bit of a killer but overall a nice race
In full: Glorious day, home made cakes at finish & a PB.
Not quite 2 laps of a relatively immature park, one killer hill between 6 & 7km that takes your breath for a while.

In short: As a first-time 10k runner, I think other races will struggle to match the atmosphere and surroundings of the Paws event. "The hill" aside, it's a great parkland route and the finish-line cakes were a nice touch!

In short: Hilly and hot, but great fun
In full: I heard a couple of veteran's of last year's race discussing THE hill at the start, which filled me with trepidation. I remarked to my mate that things with THE in front are seldom good - THE taxman, THE clap, etc.
The early stage was quite nice and scenic as we descended to a shaded towpath. It quickly changed though to uphill, out in the open sunshine. Just before 6km, we rounded a hedge to be confronted with THE hill, up which runners were slowing to a crawl or, in many cases, a walk. There was a bench at the top as well, which was devilishly tempting.
There was a bit of a snarl up at the end as it wasn't quite clear that runners were meant to funnel into a little taped alley - we were just going hell for leather uphill on the path and had to change direction at the very last second, which nearly involved me shoving the girl in front of me into a thicket. That aside, the organisation was splendid and there was a real picnic atmosphere at the finish.

In short: Lovely early Saturday morning run out
In full: Great to see a race that starts at a good time and on a Saturday - leaves the rest of the weekend to recover!
It was good weather and a good time was had by all. Hope to run again next year. Hopefully it wan't get too huge, some of the charm is the small field.

In full: Very friendly and welcoming race with a really nice, informal set-up and delicious post-race cakes! The course is sufficiently undulating to make it challenging and the country park is a nice, scenic setting. Excellent organisation and supportive marshalling all the way round. The proceeds of most races go to good causes but I particularly like that an animal welfare charity will benefit this time.

In short: Great Race!
In full: The atmosphere was really friendly, with all different age groups and abilities. The course was set out nicely, with two water stations, and marshalls to cheer everyone on. A nice local first-time race :D
