In short: Reasonably challenging. Good marshalling. Didn't like the choke points.
In full: This is a good race with some reasonably challenging parts. The only down side is the choke points - mainly the gate at the beginning, but also a few paths and tracks on the fields. However, I think an easy solution would be to send off the runners in batches with the quickest going first. You've got chip timing now so the clock doesn't start ticking until you cross the line. Petts Wood used this system last year in their 10K. See you next year.

In short: Good scenery and marshalling on this tough 10k
In full: Overall a pretty tough 10k - quite hilly in place, very difficult to pass on the narrow trails/paths and was quite slippery due to the rain. However, the scenery was good as the route went on trails through the woods and there was a good atmosphere among runners. Marshalling was excellent and guided us across a number of roads without any issue. Free photo (taken by the photography students) is a bonus.

Overall a good, well organised race but not one for PB hunters.

In short: Great Marshalls
In full: Really great marshalling on this 10k, every one was encouraging and keen to be assisting on the day...a real credit to Orpington Road Runners. Only real gripe is that you skirt massive fields on one part of the course which is a little repetitive. The hills and mud due to the rain killed any pb potential, but if you're looking for a well organised run with friendly marshals this is pretty good.

In short: Well-organised and great scenery off-road.
In full: Another well-organised event this year ORR. Good atmosphere and course was good - not too difficult, just about right. One tiny gripe, even though I had my Garmin I would have liked kilometer markers round the course.

In short: I liked the new improved faster route cutting out High Elms even though conditions on the day proved to be tough through the woods and fields.Well done again ORR and will be back again next year.

In short: Well organised and friendly. The muddy conditions made for a testing challenge.
In full: Lovely scenic route, although I did miss running through the woods in High Elms Park. Would be intersting to know the reason for the change? A few bottlenecks in places and difficult to pass at certain points. But all in all, another well organised run and well done to Orpington Road Runners.

In short: Really enjoyed this race
In full: The route was my favourite with lots of trails. I wasn't worried about my time as I just enjoyed the run. The marshalls were genuinely supportive to all, which added to the atmoshphere. Well done Orpington

In short: Challenging conditions around a pleasant mixed route.
In full: This was my 5th Orpington 10km race and usually I worry about the weather being hot and not wet!! The strong wind and muddy ground made the route tough going, think it's time to buy some trails!! I was not sure what to expect with the new route as although high elms has some steep hilly bits, it was nice running through the trees and along the trails, but as another reviewer said, there was plenty of trail bits to enjoy with the new route. The organisation was great as usual and the marshalls very supportive especially the sergeant major shouting to keep going!! The new chip system makes the entry fee very reasonable and all in all a very good race. Thanks again!!
