In full: I must have done hundreds of races in my time and I've only walked once before. A marshall told me even the winner had walked up one hill. So if you like running instead of hill-walking, like me, this isn't for you. Still, good for fitness and I suppose the clue was in the name! Great cake at the end!

In short: It DID hurt!!
In full: Difficult and challenging hills, glorious views views, very encouraging and friendly marshals, and the option to go round twice: what more could you want from a race?! Not for the faint-hearted, this race literally throws hills at you from the off. Nothing too long, but long and steep enough to stop most people running and keep the sweat pouring into your eyes. Directions were plentiful and easy to follow - if you weren't looking at the ground or trying to stop your eyes stinging! The water stop was invaluble, along with the gels, and off-road shoes are a must. Great to start and finish early on Saturday to have the rest of the weekend free (to recover!!), and good value if you chose (i.e. were mad enough) to enter both the July and September runs at the same time! And yes - I did hurt afterwards!!

In short: The Hurt, Hurt!
In full: Nice race through the surrey hills with some very sharp, short hills some just about impossible to run up, lung and leg busting!
Great organisation except signage. Loads of small signs up on trees. I'd would have put some large ones right on turns on stakes right at eye level. Almost went wrong after the top of Pitch and did go wrong on Holmbury.
Great being on Sat. as still had the Sunday to do another run.

In short: Chocolate brownies at the finish - awesome :-)
In full: Great scenery, really clearly signed and marshalled, very relaxed atmosphere and the most stunning chocolate brownies at the finish. Fantastic.

In short: A Tough Race.
In full: I did the 24km version which was tough, especially knowing what was to come after completing the first lap.

Felt the entry was a little steep for a race, but it was very well marshalled with supplies of gels and water around the course.

One thing that does need improvement for future years are the directions - I found them very poor and difficult to follow, glad that I set out deliberately early.

In short: My thighs hurt more than after the marathon
In full: Well. It was vertical. It hurt. It had chocolate brownies at the end. It had marshalls who cheered.
Would I do it again? 100% yes. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to do something a little different. I now have a 12k PB time. It is a similar time to last place in a 10k race. Freakin LOVED it.

In short: Challenging route with friendly marshalls
In full: Small event so lacking atmosphere at finish line a touch. Commerative medal pretty tacky and event photo's not free either. So maybe not great value. BUT Flapjack and banana were good after a challenging 24km with beautiful scenary and motivating marshalls all way round were a great plus. Also you can run with your dog.
