In short: Up with downs all of it hurts In full: Very challenging course. If you can run this fast then others will feel faster in comparison. Even the down hill sections start to hurt at the end. Gorgeous scenery, it's very rural so expect a few cow patts, puddles and tractor mud. I love a tough course and this is right up there with my favourites. Organisation was spot on; I never went the wrong way, marshals were very friendly, drinks were where you needed them and I liked the Long sleaved shirt we were all given. Teeny minor niggles.. A few extra toilets would have been beneficial to allow for that normal pre start rush to the porcelain and it was a fiddle in the showers to get the hot water working.

In short: In full: Well some pretty enthusiastic comments about the race (see above) even though I was the guy whose heart stopped working in last hundred metres of the race. Returned home earlier today and the running shoes will hopefully be used in the future when I can stop the pills from rattling! Massive thank you to Dawn at Marlow Striders for continuing support for the family and if Richard and Jim (two Policemen are reading this) a huge thank you also. Sorry to have cut short your run. rgds, Richard Date of review: November 10, 2008

In short: A bitter hill to swallow In full: My first half marathon and despite having a stinking cold I was thrilled to make it to the end. Was hoping to go under 2 hours but just missed out. Will be back to remedy that next year. The hills were tough but not as tough as I had expected. And the chap who collapsed near the end put my whingeing about a sore throat and snotty nose into perspective. I hope he is ok. Thank you to the organisers and the brilliant marshals for a great experience. Date of review: November 4, 2008

In short: Too tough for me In full: Set off at training run pace, and pleased I did. The hill at 8 miles was a total shocker.
Pleased I did it, but I'm a flat tarmac boy, so I wont be back. Date of review: November 3, 2008
