In short: The perfect distance challenge for beginners. In full: This is my favourite run. Running through the pedestrian areas in the town centre, over the flyover, around the bay area, with lots of crowd support. Amazing. I wish this could be a marathon, again, with the finish within the stadium. That would be perfect. PLEEEEEEEZ do this again? Date of review: September 13, 2012

In short: Yet another negative review has appeared in the running mags. I think it would have been better if the PRECISE reason for the diversion was given rather than the vague one given. Could organisers oblige please? Date of review: December 22, 2010

In short: Fantastic run around the Capital City In full: I am running the half again this year because 2009 was so good. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly & supportive marshalls,Barnardo's raised a lot of money and the medal and goody bag was above average. Date of review: September 28, 2010

In short: Great atmosphere, great route, great race in general.... In full: This was my first competitive race and I absolutely loved every minute of it. The crowd were fantastic and the course is super fast. I managed to finish 10 minutes faster than what I was expecting. I now have a PB that maybe tough to beat for me. Can't wait until next year but I have the London Marathon to contend with first... Fantastic race which could convert the non-runner into a running geek!! As it has done to me... In short: My favourite race to date! In full: Absolutely loved it!!! Took forever to cross the line since loads of runners ahead of me, but once we got going, it was a dream! It was fab running past places I know well being local and as others said, great fun running along the barrage - especially since I could see that I wasn't last by a long chalk!! The water and energy drink stations were just at the right points and marshals were good (Thank you!). The support from the public really helped - especially the inmpromptu jazz band at the 8 mile mark - you raised my spirits anyway! Only gripe really was the quality of the goody bag, versus the cost, but that's not the main point ... which was - there was everything here you'd want in a race ... great flat route, great atmosphere, running past iconic Cardiff landmarks and at least some of the profits going towards a very good cause. Couldn't understand the number of no-shows, though - 11 or 12000 runners entered and only 8800 actually turned up!! Date of review: November 8, 2009

In short: A good course taking in many aspects of the city. In full: I really enjoyed this run, it was a bit of a homecoming returning to run in a place where I lived for five years. It was good to see how much money has been spent on the city to improve it. I was not disappointed by the run and ended up with a new PB of 1.44, 8 minutes quicker than my previous best.
