In short: Fab new spooky race - loved it! In full: Fab new race! Really enjoyed it! Previous bad weather made the course a bit treacherous but that just added to the fun! Great to see everyone dressed up and marshalls really getting into the spooky spirit of things. Loved the scary movie inspired signage and lanterns. Best value race I've done for a long time, brill goody bag, best medal in my collection and excellent toffee apple. Well done Rob and team for organising. Will be back next year and put a bit more effort into my costume. Join me if you dare! (and remember your head torch!) :-) Date of review: December 14, 2012

In short: A fun, enjoyable race, through the spooky side of Portsmouth In full: In short, many thanks to Rob Piggot for organising this one. Many people turned out in fancy dress, which added to the atmosphere. Rob led the way in his mad jesters outfit and dissapeared into the dark on his bike. Loads of people dressed up in costume doing their best to scare the runners. I felt sorry for whoever was at the front, as I could hear plenty of screaming! A head torch is a must, especially in the darkest parts of the forest, but it also helps if you run with a friend, or keep close ot the person in front. The medal, as promised, was second to none, and combined with the sweet toffee apple, made for a memorable race. Get yourself in for this next year. Dont aim for a PB. Its not what this race is about. Its about having fun and dressing up. Many thanks once again to Rob for organising this. Date of review: November 7, 2012

In short: Great route with some spooky fun along the way In full: I really enjoyed this race and am glad I turned up despite having a last minute wobble about it being cold - wimp!
The atmosphere was fun and loads of people turned out in fancy dress. I loved the pumpkin lanterns leading the way across the darkest parts of the course.
I was nervous about being jumped out on. In was supposed to be running with a friend who had to pull out so was a bit of a scaredy cat about doing it alone. I needn't have been worried - while the mischeivous marshals might spook you, there's no Freddy Kruger-esque/Dawn of the Dead-style chasing.
The medal made my week! For such a low cost run (£10/£11 from memory) the medal was top notch and who doesn't love a goody bag with actual running goodies in? Oh, and the festive toffee apple as a sweet post-race treat.
I really enjoyed this race. It was a great bit of Hallowe'en fun and something I would do again for sure.
My advice to future participants - invest in a headtorch. It's an absolute must! You don't want to get left behiiiiiiind! Date of review: November 3, 2012

In short: Great fun, good value, not your average race! In full: This was a great race, 5 miles in the dark through the woods and by the water dressed up as Halloween Spooks with a few scares thown in along the way! Great value for money and the best medal I think I have ever received! This must have taken loads of organisation, with lots of marshalls and "scarers" along the route! I screamed like a 6 year old at one point! Made a nice change from chasing PB's all year. Hope this is staged again next year, I would certainly do it again! Date of review: November 3, 2012
