In short: Second year of running this fantastic race. Possibly not the best race to start back with having had my second baby 4 months ago, I had forgotten about all the hills!, but great sense of achievement. Really well organised and lovely atmosphere.

In short: Not a walk in the park.......more a tough run in the woods!
In full: Charming venue. Friendly folks. When the starter says you will be shot if you drop out, then you know you are in for a special race! Tough course but what a great off road half. The views are superb, the marshalls so positive, the water stations so welcoming and the overall organisation brilliant. Mind you my glutes felt like someone had used them for a punchbag, and today my quads are somewhat challenged. Well done everyone, I had an enjoyable day. I for one will be back next year.

In short: Brilliant organisation makes a tough course manageable
In full: You do get fair warning about how hard this race is, so I can't even complain about the hills. The marshalling, organisation, markings and signposting - the most detailed and specific I've ever seen - were absolutely spot on, with all the marshalls and drinks station staff very friendly and encouraging too. I really did need that encouragement for the mile long hill up to mile 12. The course was lovely, I wish I could have stopped for the stunning viewpoint at the summit - maybe I'll go back when I'm not running!

In short: Should come with a health warning!
In full: All those hills!! It certainly was a slog. Very hilly, either up or down, according to my garmin total ascent over 4100 feet, but what goes up must come down, so some lovely long slopes to recharge the muscles before you go up again. The marshalls were excelent and very encouraging, though a few more would have been handy in the woods at times. lots of water and orange juice stops, lovely scenery and a nice sunny day. Good allround organisation. well done to all finishers.

In short: Though, well organised and rewarding
In full: Ran it 2 minutes faster than last year, so slight improvement. It was really though throughout the course. Plenty water stations, great marshalls, very well organised indeed! Superb part of Surrey too!

In short: You need really strong legs for this one
In full: Amazing race, almost no flat at all, you are either running uphill or downhill. There are some wonderful long downhill stretches where you feel like you're flying, but then you have to run the equivalent distance all the way back up - I've never known hills go on for so long. But the route was lovely, and shaded from the sun which was very welcome, and the marshalls were all brilliant and very encouraging.
