In short: A flat course that cuts through town and with last mile in park. Weather was kind and organisation faultless. In full: Like the fact your name is called out at the finish and the finish is on grass; takes me back to running on school playing fields. Plenty of goodies at end courtesy of sponsor DHL including a very bright T shirt. Set sub 30 min PB and came 29th/352. Would run again. Date of review: June 14, 2007
In short: A must for first time racers In full: This was my first race ever last year - so to come back and knock 10mins of my time has put me on an all time high.a very well organised friendly race, book me a place for next year !!!! Date of review: June 13, 2007
In short: Just a great event In full: I entered this on the day, but the whole organisation was great. Entry on the day was spot on, start area was on a field with loads of space. The marshalling all round the course was brilliant with pleanty of cheers from them all. The finiah back at the sports playing fields with a nice goodie bag. Nothing excessive, but a little more than the T shirt. Deffo beginner friendly.
Only down side was no clear indication that the start was made....no gun or siren! Small comment on a excellent event. Date of review: June 12, 2007
In short: I do this most years, its always well organised & well marshalled. I imagine its great for PBs if you're a quick runner, nice & flat and the finish in the park is really nice. Date of review: June 11, 2007
In short: Good flat course, PB potential, very well organised. In full: Got a PB so very pleased. This was my first Long Eaton 5 miler and found it well organised. Will be coming back next year for sure. Date of review: June 11, 2007
In short: Flat course, well organised, brilliant support., pb potential. In full: I don't normally say too many good things about LERC (local rivals and all that) but I do have to say that once again they put on an excellent race. They even got the weather right this year.
Thanks to all involved, I shall be back next year to challenge my 5 mile pb which I set in 1998 according to the previous race results displayed in the sports hall.
To all LERC members, beware Erewash on Wednesday, the Muzz is nearly back to his best. LOL. Date of review: June 10, 2007
