In short: Very enjoyable race - refreshingly no frills In full: I thoroughly enjoyed the race, with fantastic views. The set up is basic by some standards but did everything it needed to do. Plenty of water stops and all the marshals were very friendly giving words of encouragement. Could do with an ice cream van at the finish line for next year. Date of review: July 27, 2010

In short: In full: I signed up for this race as I wanted to do a half marathon on the day of my 31st birthday, and I must say, I could not have had a better first half marathon experience. Best birthday gift to myself, ever!!!
I was expecting a flatter course though, but the scenery and the excellent marshalling very well made up for the tough parts :) I really enjoyed it, although the last two miles on the grassy bits were criminal and whilst running I was thinking never again. But after crossing the finish line I could only think I'd do it again, any day.
THANK YOU FAT FEET!!! Date of review: July 27, 2010

In short: Fantastic scenery and the organisers were very friendly In full: I decided to make this the last half marathon before my birthday and it was a fantastic gift!
First of all, the course was very well planned. The scenery was gorgeous and combines all kinds of surfaces (paved, gravel and grass, no mud but that's a +). The trail is not an ideal one for a PB as there are some stretches with uneven surfaces but there are no major or steep hills. My Garmin read an elevation gain of 454 mts. The route was very clearly signposted though I noticed one person joining through a "shortcut" just before mile 7. The marshals and all the organisers were very friendly and the water stations evenly arranged. There weren't many runners, but that added to the friendly atmosphere of the event. I'll definitively do it again!
