In short: Tough
In full: I'd been warned about the killer hill ... but knocked out by a whole series of steeps ups and downs after that. And after that ploughed field. Phew.
Nice-ish scenery, though at this time of year you're *after* the harvest so rather a lot of stubble, lightly fragranced with sprayed muck ...
A map on the web (e.g. a WalkJogRun route) would have been nice. There is one but it's last year's 10m version.

In short: Great scenery + marshalling
In full: Loved this run - great range of surfaces and inclines to deal with. Not overcrowded and a good atmosphere. Nice cake too!

Special mention to the marshals and those that put out the signs - never needed to look at my instructions, despite some tricky sections towards the end.

Only improvement that I would suggest would be another water station at 4 miles.

In short: Challenging trail run over an interesting course
In full: A single loop trail run with significant hills; tracks through woods, along ridges, across ploughed fields, over grassland and stubble. Minimal road - just at crossing points. Never boring and great views.

I was put off initially by 2 sides of A4 wordy instructions we were told to carry - not good for a half marathon. But as it happened, the course was well marked and the marshalls were excellent. Great tea and cakes at the finish.

Only downside was one single water station at 8.5 miles. I think this should have been at half way, or we should have known in advance how late on it would be. It would have been useful to have seen a published profile of the route beforehand to help with pacing.

But all in all, I would do this again because of the interesting course.

In short: excellent organisation, well signposted friendly run on a fairly tough but rewarding course. Killer hill at the end gives everyone something to talk about!

In short: nice, well organised trail run
In full: really enjoyable trail run over 13.1? miles of lovely Herts countryside.
1st few miles a bit uppish and some long drags, but extremely well sign-posted, didn't need my instructions once, and very well marshalled - a credit to the organisers!
I think(hope) the course was a bit long, as it seemed to take me longer than normal for a half, but could just be me!

But overall, an excellent run.
