In full: Every runner worth their salt knows that events can be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. What's not acceptable is for organisers not to make themselves known on race day, when a race is cancelled. I met other runners who obviously didn't receive e-mails until very late as I had too. There were a group of us in the car park vicinity with a guy who said he was supposed to be marshalling and HE didn't know that the race was cancelled! I need to make it clear though that this chap was not a member of the organisers. The organisers claim that they were in the car park, but I don't know them from jack and they didn't have a sign pointing themselves out.
Having said all that though, the organisers did send me a refund minus the Runners World fee. I was really looking forward to doing this race, but this experience left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I may race this in a few more years time, but not anytime soon. Date of review: July 20, 2010

In short: Good course although running through finish line twice is a bit demoralising Date of review: January 24, 2010
