In short: Fabulous couse, PB potential, awful organisation.
In full: The course itself was flat & definitely had PB potential, although felt sorry for the elites who were hindered on their 2nd lap as they had to negate through the slower runners.(2 x 5k laps)
The organisation was poor! Far too many runners! After 30 mins plus of cueing for the only car park, I had to park & then run (literally) There was talk of a 15 minute start delay to accomodate the tail back on the A38 but then with no warning clacton sounded & they were off.
At the end I queued for my time & was listed as a someone else & the incorrect time. My daughter who ran with me had the correct name but a time some 25 minutes quicker than she run??
After another 10 minute queue for goody bags & medals & I was told
there was none left. Even told "if i'd run quicker i would of got a medal" Nice!!!!!
A joke to get off the car park another 20/25 minutes.
I complained to the events organiser who felt that it was my responsibility to have foreseen the queue of traffic & that the times would be rectified & the medals sent out in the post...
Very disappointed!

In short: Great race: but everyone I spoke to measured at 9.4kms - 9.5kms ;-(
In full: Lovely countryside and well organised with fruit drink and banana at end BUT why or why so far out on the distance. I spoke to 8 random runners to check my own measurement at 9.45kms. Assuming this is the distance then it should not be marketed at 10k OR find another 500 metres . Somewhere !. This was my only criticism of an otherwise great day

In short: Very disappointing.
In full: I opted to enter this - my home town race - rather than my local race near London as I hadn't raced in Tamworth before. Big mistake!
Biggest gripe was the course was clearly not the full 10k. My Garmin measured it around 250m short and others confirmed this after race. I was a bit suspicious about distance when I passed the 5k marker a good 100m past the start/finish straight on the second lap!
Also the cheapo running number which I was wary about when I opened my race pack began to disintegrate at 6k and detatched completely at 7 so I had to carry it the rest of the distance.
£15 to enter and no chip timing!
Final insult was they spelt my name wrong in the results.
Organisers seem more interested in lining their pockets than providing a decent event.
Course was quite nice but I've marked down across the board lest someone be encouraged to enter from my rating.

In short: Great PB Potential
In full: Not the most scenic of routes but a nice flat course that helped towards me getting a PB and knocking 7mins off my time. Nice little memento at the end - makes a change to the t-shirts that normally don't get worn!

In short: Flat route, small but pleasant enough. Nice souvenir for finishing but no T-Shirt, also no chip timing.

In short: Great 10k!
In full: Very well organised, great facilities and plenty of stewards to see you don't get lost - i calculted the distance as 10.32k, i'm not sure if my i pod is out though?! A really fabulous prize was given to all competitors!
