In short: Best Race I've Ever Run!
In full: Ran this race twice now. Perfect time of the year, mid October meaning your training takes place in August and September. If you are part of Shin Splints Running Group, you are provided with some great training for this event. Race starts at 11am so plenty of time to take the train and bus, also plenty of free parking. Baggage is kept undercover and guarded, returned to you the moment you arrive back after the race. Organised start positions, faster runners at the front. A little hilly on the way round, but hills are not too steep. Frequent water stations around the course, photographs taken mostly near start and finish. After crossing the finish, you have a well done and a medal placed around your neck - you don't get that at all races! Great support from the people of Swindon and the surrounding villages on the way round. Goody bag and t-shirt provided. Recommend this to anyone who wants to run a half marathon for the first time. Race has now been taken over by British Heart Foundation, hopefully they will do just as good a job at organising it as their predecessors.

In short: Organisers laid on perfect weather conditions for this quality race
In full: In the past i have struggled with a fast time on this course but extra hill training and interval training combined with the good conditions enabled me to set new PB. Event as always excellently organised, support on the course fantastic. Never ceases to amaze me how many people are out on some of the remotest parts of the course. Marshalls as always very encouraging and so too all the support people on the baggage and bananas!

In short: Excellent race - one of the best
In full: If you want one of those eyeballs-out ultra fast races which are often in dull boring scenery [Bath, surprisingly, springs to mind]then don't come here. There are hills, oh yes. But there is excellent organisation, lovely atmosphere and scenery to die for [and I felt as if I was close in places!]. The weather was perfect - in fact just about everything, apart from my time, was perfect. I'm glad its future has been secured but I hope BHF don't spoil it.For example, lousy T shirt - thin and garish - went straight to recycling; Nationwide's was much better. And they're bound to hike the entry fee. We'll see. For the moment, great - a kick in the teeth for those who keep knocking Swindon.

In short: Still one of the best (and toughest) around
In full: Faultless yet again. The organisers even managed to get the weather perfect this year. Will be back.

In short: Tough Hills if you are not a regular runner
In full: This was my First half marathon and thought should have tried flat ones before attempting Swindon's Half marathon.

In short: One of the Best
In full: Having done a great number of half marathons Swindon is up there with the very best. The course is tough and challenging but the slickness of the organisation is unbelievable. A really great race for runners of all abilities and one to mark with indelible ink on the Calendar.

In short: I did enjoy this race and I did achieve my PB but it is a challenging half with many hills. It was the sharp steep downhill that got me and I was really slow for about 2 miles after that, recovering a bit for the last couple of miles.
In full: Good support in the villages especially Wanborough where there was a great turn out. Expected more spectators/supporters in the town tbh.
Well organised without a doubt.
Thank you Swindon!
