In short: For a beginner it was challenging but felt great to get to the finish!

In short: I even found it hilly (i am fond of hills)
In full: It was the wind that got me, i was 5 mins slower 2nd half than 1st half. I had no problem with the marshals, i don't tend to notice marshals- only when they fail to tell me which way. I think that's their job rather than being cheerful. Not much food on offer after the event(crucial to me as i had to ride to the station and no food all the way back to London- i was starving!), that is something they might address as they could make extra for the charity!

In short: free Tea, a nice medal and one 'hill'of a race!
In full: Definitely try to get there early, say 45 mins before race start or you will struggle with parking. Free Tea/coffee/orange juice and biccies before and after the race for runners. It was full - 500 runners with a few turned away as well! And then comes the ominous hill. Even if you know it is coming it doesn't stop you thinking you are on for a pb around halfway! good luck and keep some energy in reserve for the last 2.5k!

In short: Needs more club runners organising, the Lions don't create a motivating atmosphere

In short: Nice hilly race shame about the lack of encouragement from the marshalls
In full: It was a difficult race. Even the first 5K going downhill was hard on your legs, the uphill from 7K onwards was a challenge. However it was nice to run a hilly course. A couple of gripes are the complete lack of encouragement or sign of friendlyness from the course marshalls. "Smile and clap, it does help". My second gripe was the lack of water at the finish line.

In short: A challenging race of 2 halves
In full: A race to get the old heart beating!
Panoramic scenery (shame about Didcot) but missed the pigs somehow. I'm still aching after the hills, and it was tough to sprint after the climb. The first half lulled us into a false sense of security. All bvery character building! Loads of marshalls & nice friedly ambience.

In short: Ouch - talk about a slog to the finish. I was doing quite well to 7K then it all went horribly wrong. Pigs were cool though and made me smile.

In short: Didn't really enjoy this, but it was probably me, not the race
In full: I really didn't like doing the downhill bit first and the uphill last. I didn't find the marshalls very encouraging and, not being a local, I got lost on the way, the car park was full, and the 'advice' I got for parking - 'you just have to look for somewhere'- was not really helpful.

In short: Gentle start...nasty finish. Great Pigs!
In full: Fisrt race so nothing to compare it too! had driven the course so knew the nasty hills were coming up - literally! Didn't think the marshalls encouraged at all but didn't bother me - they all seemed pretty old so the cold was probably getting them down a bit. Would definately run again, if only to teach those hills a lesson next year...(year right..!)

In short: Well organised and friendly.
In full: Well organised with the free hot drinks being a nice touch. Perhaps a profile of the course could have been displayed at the start alongside the route - this would have helped the first-timers.
