In short: AWESOME! In a class of its own... can't recommend it highly enough!
In full: This is an absolutely brilliant course! Some great climbs; the most mud i've ever seen; puddles that were knee deep in ice cold water; rushing flood waters; technical rocky / rooty sections; and glorious scenery throughout. On top of that its in February so you're also battling the weather from start to finish - and yesterday's weather was pretty extreme! And to finish it off the atmosphere, organisation and marshalling were superb! Cant recommend this one highly enough!

In short: What a great race
In full: For me a marathon in all but name. A friendly, small-race feel - especially at the start, all crammed into the Scout Hall.
The race was what I expected - a very long 21 miles - ice, snow, mud and 3000 feet of climb. Fantastic.
Water stops were great - super selection of nibbles. It's the first race where I was tempted to stop and chat. A minute here or there made no difference to my time. And a huge thanks to the marshall at the final stop who gave me the coffee. Just what I needed.

In short: Fabulous race, great course, great banter and great organisation.
In full: Been planning on doing this race for ages and wasn't disappointed. Lovely scenery, tough without being silly and the best water stations that I've ever experienced. Well done to all at PJC and all who completed the race.

In short: Challenging, whatever the weather.
In full: It just gets better every time. Great atmosphere, well routed with fabulous marshalls. Refreshments were at just the right distances especially the 14 and 18 mile ones and the cakes and fruit were delicious. Thanks to all involved.

In short: Train hard for this one! You'll need it!
In full: My longest run in prep for this was 16 miles xc with hard hills, but I still struggled a bit. This is definately a course to aim for getting round, not for times! Nice touch having bananas, mars bars etc on the water stations, and getting a t-shirt was a bonus too! Spectacular scenery!

In short: Not one for the road shoes
In full: Tried this again for the first time in 3 years. Route may have changed a bit but little else. The new track up Butser Hill is shorter but steeper, with an interesting chalk / mud / ice / slush / running water mix underfoot. Great organisation and atmosphere, miles just flew past and there's still tea and cakes at the end.
