In short: Nasty Hill just after halfway, a bit twisty, but a good winter warmer!

In short: Very enjoyable and a good atmosphere. Volunteers to a great job
In full: Thanks to all the volunteers and the encouragement they gave.
Good support from the crowd on the finishing straight of the track.
A medal would be nice. Most people like to receive one I think

In short: Run on road with a couple of climbs, starts & finishes on the athletics track, loads of friendly marshalls, nice goody bag - first time I've received a towel!

In full: Brilliant run, very well organised. The weather was fab considering it was the end of November. Few inclines but nothing too serious. Everyone very friendly. Excellent goodie bag at the end, the embroidered Towel was a nice surprise, and lots of other goodies as well - much more than I expected for the entry fee. My only slight criticism would be the water station, there was only one and it was well past the halfway mark, could have done with it much earlier in the run. A very big thank you to all who organised this run, and to the ever smiling marshalls.

In short: Very cold winter race with bacon sandwiches at the end
In full: This race was on one of the very cold sub-zero days of the autumn and was difficult to get out of bed for. It was well worth it though and the intense cold added to the sense of achievement. The venue is easy to get to from Southampton by train. It is a plesant route around Queen's Park in Pokesdown with a lake towards the end. There is some light traffic in places, but it isn't excessive. The marshalling was excellent with a lot of volunteers along the route that were very friendly and encouraging. The route was mostly flat. At the end, the goody bag contained a mug as well as a few other freebies, making the race good value. Finishing on the race track is a bonus. Fotunately the cafe at the end was selling bacon baps, which went down well with a cup of tea! The only criticism is a lack of a bag storage area. Bags must be left in an unsupervised changing room, which isn't ideal for people that do not drive to the venue.

In short: This was my first proper race entry and I picked a good one! A few moderately challenging ascents but nothing too tough. Fantastic organisation and marshalling, perfect for a beginner or someone new to racing to feel confident and enjoy themselves.
