In short: Really tough, but thoroughly enjoyable...
In full: despite the weather (which can't be helped, although it did prevent what would be spectacular views) this was great fun, and a tough, challenging race. Fairly informal, but brillantly marshalled. It's not a PB course, but the mix of hills, tarmac and field/track kept it interesting.

In short: Tough race made even tougher by the rain
In full: What a shame about the weather! The torrential rain did not make the off road section much fun. Tough hilly course makes this race a bit of a challenge but enjoyable. Nice to be able to look round the show before and after and lots of good stuff to eat and drink. Accurate mile markers, plenty of water stations and marshalls where you needed them. I wasnt very happy being kept waiting on the start line in torrential rain waiting for last minute entrants to arrive - if you are going to enter on the day you need to get there in good time. People had to hang around for the prize presentation for an awful long time which sounds a bit ungrateful and I am not - they were good prizes - just would have rather got away home and dry a bit quicker.

In short: A Yorkshire gem!
In full: First ran this in 1989 and it was highly demanding then - never broke 100 minutes :( Low key, well organised, varied gradient & interesting terrain - but I can't ever recall rain like it! I plan to return for my 10th next year. Thank you, all at Bp Wilton :)

In short: Toughest race of my life
In full: Great race. Had a brilliant day. Torrential rain, flooded roads with huge hill climbs. Good mix of road, off road, hill climbs and down hill sprints. Very testing but all great fun. Organisation very good and well done to all the stewards who braved the non stop hard rain.

In short: I Love it
In full: Third time at this race and inspite of/because of the dreadful weather, I got my PB (for this course)
I feel bad for telling a few first timers that the climbs weren't that difficult. Somehow in my head I remembered them to be a lot easier than they actually were. They are not easy, they are tough. I will remember this in future!
However that makes this race more rewarding and the downhill sprint finish is just brilliant!
It's one of my favourite half marathons and the organisation is spot on.
I love the mugs, one more race and I'll have a full set!

In short: Another race to put away your watch and just enjoy
In full: Don't even think of a personal best unless it is your first half marathon. But what an outstandingly relaxed atmosphere and what wonderful countryside to enjoy even in the pouring rain. Well done to everyone involved in the organisation.

In short: Brilliant as always
In full: What a great race this is, the organisation is great, the course is intersting, the atmosphere is excellent and the prizes are....er....different!

There are only 2 half marathons in the year that are on my door step. This one is better in every category apart from PB potential in my opinion. The atmosphere at this race is like no other I've been to, smiles everwhere despite everyone being soaked through before they'd even reached the start line. Although not really a beginners course as it's tough, the atmosphere more than makes this a great run for anyone to take on as their first race or half-marathon distance. You can then smash your PB somewhere else but it won't be as much fun!

Well done Andy and all involved.

In short: nice one!
In full: not done this race for 11 years and remembered why after the 3 mile climb! cracking race, lovely countryside and well organised. i will however comment that had the weather been hot, as we would expect in july, then cups of water would be inadequate, please consider bottled for next year.

the course is a great mix of flat, up, down, road, trscks and grass. probably one of my all time favourites.

well done to all involved in the organisation, and i really enjoyed the rain!!
