In short: Very well organised!
In full: This was a very hot day with many challenging hills but I loved it. The organisation for a first race was slick and there are many more established races that could learn a thing or too! There were many water stations, all well stocked. If there is one next year I for one will be back

In short: Excellent race, extremely enjoyable
In full: Frome did themselves proud for their first ever half marathon. Organisation was fantastic, everyone involved helped create a friendly, jovial atmosphere to make this a great event. The crowds en route were terrific, I almost felt like I was the race leader such was the reception from them. Plenty of water stations and lovely countryside helped ease the pain of some of those difficult hills. Would definitely recommend this race, although be prepared for those hills and potential hot July weather. Hope to be back next year.

In short: Brilliant! I would love to do this again next year
In full: What a fantastic race! I never thought I would say that about a route that was hellishy hilly run on a day that was probably the hottest of the summer so far. However I felt such a great sense of achievement for finishing it.
Full road closures were very impressive with cheerful marshalls in even the most remote points. Lots of well equiped water stations and the residents were fantastic bringing out their hoses (which were well needed). Ok so it's not a PB course but who cares when you can have this much fun?
I woud love to run this again next year (with a bit more hill training first). Hats off to the organisers and all the volunteers for such a wonderful race.

In short: Great event, don't miss out next year!!!
In full: The overall event was really very good and an absolute pleasure to run in. It is a tough course with a brutal hill at around the 10 mile mark plus a very hot day so PB hopes are very limited but the mix of countryside and town running gave for a great route in compensation.

The atmosphere of the race is reason enough to do it with spectators for nearly all 13 miles and a few generous hosepipes which were extremely welcome!! Water stations were well placed in my opinion, i'd say one every 2 or 3 miles and 3 in the last 3 miles. Some stations had sponges too.

It's a rewarding course to get round so i'd say beginners should give it ago just do some hill training!

Bargain due to great route, generous goodie bag and buzzing atmosphere.

Well done to everyone who competed and a special thanks to all of the stewards and volunteers who made it all possible. Same again next year please!!!!!!!

In short: Fantastic First Frome Half!!!
In full: Hats off to the organisers this scores 11 out of 10 on every aspect!!

Lovely welcome from the registration ladies, excellent marshals throughout, epic support from the locals of Frome, real community spirited throughout.

With the exception of the slight delay at the start, the organisers were forward thinking enough to supply enough water for a very hot July day. Yes an 11am start maybe a bit late, however the number of water stations and sponge stations with bottled water certainly made up for it and the heat didn't hugely affect my time. The course is pretty hilly, with a nasty climb at 10 miles and then a cheeky speedy steep descent into Frome town centre only to turn the corner and run back up the other side, now a steep ascent! One thing I didn't particularly like was a short climb to the finish line didn't make for a great sprint finish. However, on crossing the line a medal was placed around my neck, a bottle of water placed into one hand, a goody bag into another and my result was available within 30 secs of crossing the line, all topped off with a big 'Thank you' from the race team for running. I would like to say a big Thank you to Frome Running Club for organising, Sterling Effort.

Excellent job all round, will definitely be back next year, kicked my Snowdonia Marathon training off a treat.

In short: Brilliant organization. Well done ALL
In full: Bottles water and not plastic cups....great idea. tough course but well worth it. It was hard because of the sun and the water was warm at the stations but thats nothing the organizers could have done anything about. Seems like the entire community were out in support and a big thank you to the marshals too, they were great. A water station after the hills and lanes would have been nice but over all 10 out of 10. Ill see you all next year

In short: A good event. A special thanks to the marshalls who were excellent
In full: I think the organisers should be proud of their effort but a few things to iron out for next time.
The course is tough but there is nothing wrong with that and the fact that it was tough was well advertised. I just question whether the event is held at the right time of the year or the right time. Running a hilly course in the midday sun in July is asking a lot. Saying that there were a lot of water stations along the 2nd half of the course which I am sure we all appreciated and needed. The spectators were also excellent with hose pipes on route to help. I think maybe the position of water stations could be looked at. e.g after a tough hill would be nice if possible.
There was a hiccop at the start which I am sure will be looked at for next time. I did not enjoy waiting in the sun for that long before hand.
I think it is a shame that the organisers were not allowed a bigger field either because there was certainly room for more people.
Overall I enjoyed the day. I put a maybe for doing it again, only because I personally found it a very tough ask on a hot July midday, but enjoyed the event neverless.
