In short: Superbly organised event. In full: I have run in a number of marathons over the years and for a low key race of this sort, this was up certainly up there with the best. Great Yarmouth Road Runners and their huge band of enthusiastic marshalls put together an excellent event and they all deserve a pat on the back for their efforts. The weather could have been kinder but I don't think they could have done any more than they did to make this a very successsful day. I'd certainly run this again and it would be a great shame if I had to wait another 25 years before they considered a repeat.. Date of review: October 23, 2012

In full: This was my first ever marathon and to sum it up in two words fantasic and brilliant, the marshals also did an amazing job well done Yarmouth Road runners for putting on this event I loved the route running along the sea front and still buzzing that I have now ran a Marathon being born and breed in Norfolk I just had to be part of this event and having ran quite a few half Marathons I've always wanted to do a full Marathon I hope they stage the event again one day. In short: Well organised. Marshals "walk on water" In full: Please do it again. Thanks to those brave marshals who stood in the rain for 6hrs. At least we were moving. They were chatting & joking despite the wet & wind. Organisation excellent. Date of review: October 23, 2012

In short: Please do it again next year! In full: My husband and I both ran this. We had no idea what to expect and having never been to Yarmouth before, our expectations were low. We loved it! It was the first time in my 22 marathons, his 10, that we have run the whole distance together, as neither of us were on peak form and were aiming to 'get round' rather than 'PB' and we had a great time looking at all the attractions, watching the other runners, deciding which burger stall we were going to afterwards etc. The docks area was challenging mentally, similar to the power station stage at Brighton, but helped by the marshall with the loud sound-system at the end. As everyone else has said, the marshalls were brilliant - how they kept cheerful in such awful weather, I don't know. Thanks, GYRR, for a great event. Date of review: October 23, 2012

In short: The marshals were great!! In full: A very successful first-time marathon for GYRR. The docks part of the course was awful, but what the course and the weather lacked was more than made up for by the faultless organisation of GYRR and the tremendous encouragement of the marshals, who stood out in the cold and rain for many hours. Big city marathons could learn a lot from this event. Date of review: October 23, 2012

In short: Excellent organisation - please make it an annual event! In full: This was my 8th marathon and certainly the most enjoyable - the whole event was organised perfectly and the marshalls and crowd were fantastic (despite the weather!). It's always a plus when you find a friendly race where you can exchange a few words along the way with marshalls and other runners.
Huge thanks to all those involved who gave up their time and energy to make sure everything went to plan. In testing conditions you did your club proud!
I hope that you will consider making this an annual event....

In full: This was my first Marathon and ran it with my Girlfriend who was doing her 4th... We had a fantastic day and that was mainly down to the faultless organisation by the GYRR and the uplifting marshals.. If possible I think it would be fantastic if this could be made an annual event as it is something Norfolk could do with and it is great to be by the sea and in my opinion could grow in popularity with the excellent organisation skills by GYRR and the flatness of the course.
