In short: Tough hills, particularly towards the end...well organised though and worth the trip In full: This was my second 1/2 marathon following what would be considered a rather less challenging course in Torfaen (Wales). The 3 miles uphill slog at the start really wakes you up and the long drag from 9 onwards was cruel. Not impressed with the memento...a bag in a bag...hmmm Date of review: December 4, 2006

In short: 2nd year for me, looking forward to the 3rd next year In full: Enjoyed the race again, good organisation and flawless marshals. Bottles at the drinks stations!! take note Worksop ditch the plastic cups. Only down side for me was the sparse goodie bag, last year nice wooley hat, this year a carrier bag, mmmmm. Still I'll be back next year Date of review: November 27, 2006

In short: Quite a tough course but don't let that put you off. Well worth giving it a go. In full: Quite a tough hilly course but well worthing the effort. Not much chance of setting a personal best but would still recommend. The event was well organised & marshalled with frequent water & sponge stations. Even got a Jelly Baby towards the end! One small gripe would be the temporary road surface around the 11 mile mark which was quite trecherous. Date of review: November 27, 2006

In short: Ginger biscuits at the end. Ought to be compulsory at all races. In full: Not an easy race, particularly as it was quite windy. Some nice countryside, but not so good running along the main road towards the end, especially for the wheelchair competitors on the unmade part. Nevertheless a pleasant morning out, and I will be back to do this again. Date of review: November 26, 2006

In short: Good race, excellent organisation & marshalling In full: A good race with great organisation and friendly marshalls. Water stations were well spaced and great to see bottles rather than cups. The course is nicely undulating, hills make it more interesting but nothing of great severity. Will Be Back Date of review: November 26, 2006

In short: A good race, just a bit breezy! In full: Can't fault it really, except maybe that the website appeared to advertise a 10:30 start when it was 10 o'clock. Oops. It just meant that my garmin didn't have a fix for the first half mile. Otherwise, good organisation, friendly marshalls and a good finish line. Cheers! Date of review: November 26, 2006

In short: Well organised race. tough course but very enjoyable In full: the wind made the course even harder than the 8 miles of uphill already hadm but the weather was great and the organisation was good. Water stations well marshalled with plenty to go around. the only slight moans were the temporany ropad surface you had to run on between 10 and 12 - I say someone fall over and twist their ankle on it! Also the gate to the school carpark (where we were told to park) was locked before the presentation had finished which was annoying.
All in all a good race and I'd come back again next year. Date of review: November 26, 2006
