In short: do not enter if you cannot navigate or read directions! In full: this is a pearl of a race. If you do not know the course recce it a few weeks beforehand or do it in sections if that is too far. Its attraction is that it is not fully marshalled or marked - you have to read the directions and use your intelligence to get round. It's not like other races of follow my leader as the runner in front may have no idea where they are either. marking has been more prevelant over the last couple of years but in my opinion should be removed totally and let Darwins law rule. In short: A Great pre marathon run In full: This was a first time for me. Its not a easy run with several testing hills but the scenery and good company made it a very enjoyable run. If I could I would do it every year, I must point out i belong to the organising club but even so I still think this is a fantastic run. Date of review: October 1, 2007

In short: loved it! In full: A really friendly race, not too competitive because of the navigation element which made it more of a training run. The route was really nice and the refreshments were excellent. Date of review: September 18, 2007

In short: Fantastic and In full: An absolutely brilliant setting with a course which was obtuse enough to make you think. Great refreshments and organisation. This event is what amateur running is all about in my opinion. Date of review: September 17, 2007

In short: Tough but great organisation In full: Really enjoyed this. More fun than a normal race with the navigation challenge. SOme of the terrain was tough with ploughed fields and very stony paths to go with the windey routes through woods with roots. Date of review: September 17, 2007

In short: Good race, definitely a challenge, great for marathon training In full: Well organised small and friendly event. Quite easy to get lost on the course but I removed the need to struggle with maps and directions by sticking close to some dunstable runners. Very dry underfoot in places and one tricky stretch of some testing loose flint to negotiate Overall a good event and the tea and grub at the finish was well appreciated. In short: A beaut ! In full: My second time and I'll be back next year. Hard mud and flints made some parts testing. Glorious scenery & perfect weather. Still got lost but in different places to last year! Good map made finding where you were easier. Nice to be in a race where time & position is not everything. Free food is better than a T-shirt or medal in my book. Date of review: September 17, 2007

In short: A real challenge but great scenery In full: 20 miles, map reading, hills and off road made this a real challenge and a great pre New York warm up.
Lack of mile markers and scenery made the 20 miles pass much quicker than they seem to on a lap or two round a town centre or industrial estate.
Thanks to everyone in front of me who could follow the instructions and to organsisers for the Mars Bars at the check points. Date of review: September 17, 2007

In short: An event to enjoy as a challenge rather than a race In full: Lovely scenery, great route, friendly atmosphere, good marshalling, excellent facilities at the finish and plenty of tea. Pretty easy to get lost or break your neck on a flinty path but that's all part of the challenge! Date of review: September 17, 2007

In short: Friendly Challenge through lovely countryside. In full: This was my first 20 miler. I loved the relaxed friendly atmosphere of this challenge. We were so lucky that it was perfect running weather with fantastic clear views. The relief of seeing the stunning view from the top of the downs again at mile 19 was the highlight for me. I did check out the route before the day which made everything so much easier and enjoyable. Super certificate with the route and finishing time printed on - much better than a medal I think. Thank you Dunstable Road Runners for a brilliant day. Date of review: September 17, 2007
