In short: As ever, a very well organised and challenging race. Only criticism - leaving the water supply at the end to 2 small girls meant raging thirst just when you need water most. Date of review: October 19, 2008
In short: A killer run but I'll be back for more next year... In full: Friendly run but far far too steep and boggy for a PB. Georgeous Mendip scenery when not too knackered to notice. Great butties at the finish! Date of review: October 19, 2008
In short: Tough In full: Good mix of mud & rock. Granted there were a few fallers but this was not advertised as easy. Only suspected that 20K was not the case when eavesdropping at the start line. However, who could complain about a little bit extra when you are outdoors on the hills Date of review: October 14, 2008
In short: Very tough, yet enjoyable challenge In full: The first half was great and the time flew by, the second half was very tough and challenging and longer than expected!! This was my first 20k multi terrain run, having only done 10k previously, and although I ache I'm feeling on top of the world for completing it. Well done to everyone else too. In short: Really tough. If you like 20k off-roaders, this is the one for you. In full: Positives: Great scenery, not too crowded, great organisation. Negatives: Really rocky; I saw 3 people with twisted ankles. After 1 week of dry weather it was still a bog in places; very hard going. If you enjoy that sort of thing, then do this race.
