In short: Grim weather but still one of the best X-country races of the year In full: Squidgy underfoot due to persistant cold mizzle this year, but superb bacon butties, fresh homemade cakes and great atmosphere more than made up for any pain - See you in 2010! Date of review: October 13, 2009
In short: Rain, mud, hills ... great. In full: Many thanks to Weston AC for organising such a great event, and to the hardy marshals who must have felt as weather beaten as the runners. Tough off road course with lots of variety underfoot to keep you concentrating.... and plenty of camaraderie to help keep you going up the hills.
In short: Misty, muddy, hilly..... and brilliant In full: So the mist descended in time for the race, the rain turned parts of the route to a quagmire and the paths into streams of mud. A tough introduction to the world of 'fell' running. Great camaraderie, excellent marshals and organisation. Loved every minute of it!!! Date of review: October 12, 2009
In short: Weather was British, scenery would have been great if you could have seen it, hills were ......... well.....hilly.....other competitors were friendly and marshals were great and frequent. First time I've tried this one and would recommend it. In full: Well done Weston AC. A great race. I was concerned to start with as it semed to be mainly club runners turning up for a good hard run, but it was very friendly and great fun. The marshalling was excellent and a number of people braved the elements at various points to cheer the runners on. Well done for an interesting course with a nice selection of different shades of mud. I think I'll be back next year. Date of review: October 11, 2009
In short: Fantastic scenery, great organisation, and just a hint of mud. In full: Great race, the marshalls were fantastic and every felt very well organised, with a good buzz, despite the weather. My race was only ruined by getting the mother of all blisters, and attempting to finish the race in my socks. Will be back next year without a doubt. Date of review: October 11, 2009
