In short: A ggod course but relentlessly undulating and very short of shade on thr hottest day of the year!
In full: This is a good challenge for a proper workout. No massive hills but plenty of energy-sapping inclines. Unfortunately I wasn't too well near the end but attention from marshalls when I threw up was excellent and spurred me on to finish. One criticism, though: it's great for small clubs to run events like this, but however small the club, the marathon is still a big physical challenge and serving water at (literally)tea / coffee temperature all the way round is a big health risk. I know no one can predict the weather but if you want to think big, (e.g. marathon), big contingency plans are needed too. At the end, there was little repite as we were presented with a sweet, (warm) mily drink from the sponsors, completely inappropriate for the conditions. No other drinks were available anywhere, for love nor money!

In short: If you only ever run one marathon - run this one!
In full: Exceptionally friendly and particularly well organised - congratulations HRR. Plenty of water and support from everyone on what was an extremely hot day - a scorcher! Has to be one of my favourite races :)

In short: My hottest marathon ever!
In full: My PB course from last year, but this year was a scorcher! It was obvious that the organisers had listened to the weather forecast, because there seemed to be extra drinking water and sponges compared to what they had advertised. The spectators made the day for me - as the temperature soared, out came the garden hoses, sprinklers and water-pistols for anyone who wanted a quick shower. A well organised and well marshalled event well worth considering. I definitely recommend it.
