In short: Excellent race with great supporters
In full: Had a great time this year, made special by the supporters along the route.
I would recommend the organisers consider giving water bottles as even with the stations there are times when you would like to take water between stations. I would happily pay a premium in future races for this.
The hills are a constant challenge and shouldn't be underestimated. I disrespected them and they bit me back..

In short: Highly recommended marathon for experienced or new marathoners
In full: Second time for me and quicker by over an hour. So many lovely touches to this race:

Your name on your running number
Personal drinks where you want them
Locals who are proud of their race (some offer food, some leave hoses on to douse runners)
Enthusiastic support around the course which twists, turns, rises and dips enough to hold your interest.
Great lump of a medal, t-shirt and a goodybag, outstanding value - where were for goodness shakes this year though :(
Nice to be presented my medal by the mayor

Looking forward to seeing what new additions Halstead RR come up with for 2010, i will be there for sure.

In short: Fantastic race, organisation and scenery
In full: The race was very well organised around the beautiful countryside near Halstead. It was hard work in places with the many small hills but made for a great challenge and an interesting run. There were many supporters along the route with the additional jelly babies! This was my first marathon, and it made me feel right at home...I will be back!!
