In short: Perfect marathon In full: Everything from the marshalling, scenery, water stations, medal, goody bag and hot showers were faultless. Even the weather was fab!
Was particularly impressed with the drinks stations. I put two drinks in box 2 and as I ran up to the water station the marshall already had my drink out, opened, all ready for me. I was able to maintain the same pace.
My favourite is the Kielder marathon but this is a very close second. Date of review: May 17, 2012

In short: Great course, support and marshalls. In full: It's already been said on here. Great race, very well organised. Loads of encouragement on the course from supporters and marshalls. Great finish area with a decent goody bag (for a change), good value massages and ice cream. What more could you want? Oh and the weather too! Date of review: May 16, 2012

In short: Brilliant first marathon - thanks to everyone In full: Like others was due to do Stratford but didn't want to waste the training for my first marathon so came from Bristol. Only slight let down was that I thought I was in the running for Female 55+ fastest, which wasn't announced and had to ask an official who had me listed as 3rd in 50+. Got my prize shortly after though and like most of the other postings thought the marshals and supporters during the race and at the finish couldn't have been more encouraging. Only problem now - would any other marathon be a disappointment! Date of review: May 15, 2012

In short: A very well organised, nicely challenging marathon In full: This was my first marathon and I was a bit apprehensive after reading about the hills on the course. Fortunately they weren't too bad at all and the wonderful organisation made the race as pleasant as a first marathon can be!
I got round in 3h35m, faster than I was expecting, so good times are pretty achievable I'd say.
The course is beautiful and lots of supporters made it out. All in all, a brilliant day.
Tip: take advantage of the special drink stations, they make a world of difference. Date of review: May 15, 2012
