In short: Too many runners for the course and for the organisers to cope
In full: It is a good course in terms of pb potential and it takes you past the cathedral and castle of Lincoln so an interesting course.

The finish is in an excellent setting within the castle grounds but there are far too many runners in the race to make it practical.

The delay at the start was absolutely ridiculous. Fortunately it was a little warmer at the start this year compared to last. When you have planned your last toilet break and then taken on some water ready for the race and find yourself bursting for the toilet as the race is about to begin (half an hour late) it is not the ideal start. Apparently there were cars parked on the course and they were trying to find the owners. Any other city would have ensured that cars were not on the course to start with or towed the offending vehicles away.

The finish is completely disorganised. If it were limited to 2000 runners or less and the organisers pulled their fingers out it could be a really fantastic event.

In short: Organiation shocking
In full: I have done this race for the last eight years and the organisation is terrible each year ,it could be one of the best 10k in the country if only they could get it right on the day.I will be back again next year in the hope that there is no 30 min delay at the start and the finish is much better organised the finish this year was a free for all for medals and tee shirts. The race itself was great very well marshalled fantastic crowds please just sort out the start and finish.

In short: Terrible organisation - 30 min delay at start - madness at end
In full: Please please sort this out!!! 30 min delay at start was just too long. At the end, couldn't find any water as so many people milling about. Queues for medals/t-shirts ridiculous. My family couldnt get in like last year. Awful organisation.

In short: Could be one of the best, but crying out for proper organising
In full: A gorgeous sunny day, but as a Lincoln resident I was embarrassed by the poor organisation of the race. The delayed start WAS the organisers' fault - they should have cleared the route by 9am latest. The start was cramped and there was no batching of starters; indeed, many 1hr plus and first-timers were within 10 metres of the start line. Also, cones were left on the road and nearly caused serious injuries. The end in the castle is wonderful, but was organised by a 2 year old. Come on Lincoln, give us a race we can truly be proud of.

In short: Flat and Fast with good crowds.
In full: Bit of pity about the late start, but that was out of the organisers hands.

In short: 3rd year I have done race. What happened this year? A finish where you have to wait 20mins for medal and spectators can't get to the finish area or line. Real shame!e

In short: The finish at the Castle was a nightmare
In full: Finishers having to wait for medals and t-shirts blocked access to the water and encorached on the finish line!! Trying to get out of the Castle was a nightmare with the area outside the Victoria Public House being rammed full of people. Needs to be better organised to deal with the huge volume of runners and spectators.

In short: Flat and pacey
In full: I'd like to see another water station, and the organisation after the finish needs to improve - the promo material said we'd be walking through the castle, collecting our t-shirt etc and ending up at The Lawn, but this didn't happen at all. Worst part of it was having to wait for access to water, that needs sorting if nothing else.

The course itself was great.

In short: Unfair to say it was a shambles. Yes the fight for medals etc and the exit was very poor, but the late start was out of the organisers control and the actual course itself was great.
