In short: A real pb course, wide roads, flat as a pancake route and great support throughout. Parking was a total nightmare.
In full: I arrived in plenty of time as bumf advised but was met with blocked roads and extremely unhelpful, at times rude, police traffic operatives!!!!. No signs directing me anywhere and had to jump out of the car and ask passers by for help. NOT GOOD!!! The race itself was a ball, loved the flat course and wide roads, no excuses if you don't run a fast time here. On finishing I waited to meet my family in the race village, but after waiting for 20 minutes went looking for them. Turns out they'd been refused access to the village.....um??? Not good!!! Then dogmatic marshalls wouldn't let us cross route, despite the fact that it was 90 minutes after the race start and then remained only the odd tail ender (absolute respect to you) still on route. Overall I loved the race but hated the organisation (or lack of) it.

In short: the crowds made it extra special, great finish area as well
In full: only my 2nd 10k and 1st 'big' race, I really enjoyed the support of the crowds. Reasonably well organised considering the large number of entrants.

In short: Still not perfect, but getting better
In full: local race that I was bullied into doing again... organisation isn't fantastic, delayed start, very poor water station for 4600 runners... not sure where the 900 non-finishers got to when they said 5500..! medal is brilliant, tshirt non existent. Crowds are great, finish is still far too compact and disorganised. If you want a grandstand finish, find somewhere that's got space!!!

In short: Slowly improving
In full: My local race and having not run it for a few years you could see a big improvement in the organisation but we must remember that it is a council run event! After a delay in starting, the weather and atmosphere made this a good race to complete with locals supporting well and a traffic free run with a finish in the historic Lincoln castle.

In short: Great medal, abysmal organisation.....again.
In full: I have suffered this race for the last 5 years or so. Every year I have filled in the post race feedback form and it never changes. If anything, it has got worse every year.
The only reason I keep coming back is because the medal is excellent and better than any other non big marathon.
Getting to parking was a joke. Why the local residents put up with their cul de sacs being shut off from 8:30am is beyond me. Trying to get to a Lincoln car park was impossible as road closures seemed far worse than last year. Was funnelled into the official car park where marshalling was pathetic. At this point it seemed clear that getting out of the car park was a disaster waiting to happen.
Pre- London, I had intended to run at a slower pace for the fun of it. With the impending doom of the car park in min, plan B, ie leggit and get back ASAP, was put into place.
The usual delay to the start happened with very little explanation on the tannoy. Off we went from the non-policed start pens where, as usual, all manner of slow runner was in totally the wrong place.
On the positive side, the end wasn't as catastrophic as usual although the chip bins required an ordnance survey map and compass to find.
Never mind, really fast time and back to the car park where...... because the access to the car park was OFF THE RACE ROUTE, noone was allowed to leave until 1pm (the race started at 11am). So all we could do was wait in a traffic queue in the car park for nigh on an hour.
This is without question the worst organised race I have ever been in, why do they continue to let us down. 7000 runners next year?...... potential disaster.
