In short: The best 1/2 I've done this year.
In full: Hard work but wonderful half. Realised at about mile 3 that this race was all about pleasure not pace! About 5 mins outside usual 1/2 marathon pace. Lovely scenery - the cows looked bemused but the horses a bit disinterested in the spectacle. Friendly helpful marshalls. A medal and a T shirt a nice surprise and good value. Completed 13 halves in 2006 and this was the highlight.

In short: Wonderful race through a beautiful part of the country
In full: I loved this race. There weren't many of us (about 200 i think) but it had a lovely friendly atmosphere. Everyone was happy to chat and overall it was well organised and marshalled. A free t-shirt at the end was a lovely bonus

In short: Scenic, friendly, quite tough course.
In full: My first hilly half. Really enjoyed it, the friendly marshalls were great: "it's worth the view when you get to the top". Virtually had to break the ice at the water stations - must have been cold for them. I think the friendly runners helped a lot on this - was dragged along towards the end and found the last two miles despite being flat to be pretty tough. Tea and buns great at the end, along with hot shower at the leisure centre. Only two qualms being that I nearly got lost at the end and it would have been good to have had something on for the (cold) spectators. Overall very good though.

In short: Tougher than expected;scenic, undulating course; very welcoming
In full: The changing accom is in 1920's Memorial hall: okay for 170 turnout, but would be creaking if they pushed the numbers up.

The course was tougher than I'd trained for but not as mean as it could have been. Lucky with the weather - I'd been expecting snow :-)

In short: Quite hilly but plenty of time to recover between climbs. Good overall race. Plenty of parking and easy to get to.

In short: This was my first half marathon. It was absolutely great. Beautiful scenery, lovely friendly people and very well organised. It was particularly nice to have my Mum and friends serving tea and buns at the end! Thanks, Mum!
