In short: much improved on 07s race In full: does what it says on the tin - undulating. as for the loos there were six porta loos plus the toilets in the visitor centre. overall thought it went well, agree the funnel should have been longer. good for spectators at the start/finish area and near the lake. In short: Overall one for anyone's 2009 race calendar In full: Two moans - insufficient toilets and the start was not that well organised, loud hailer might have helped. Apart from that worth the trip, more ups than I expected but enjoyed the race. Marshalls were good but yes the last 400 m was tough but what a challenge Date of review: November 18, 2008
In short: A good event blessed with glorious late autumn weather In full: this was a race of two halves. The first half was nothing special, with a short loop round an industrial estate, followed by a long sretch along a road. The scenic second half was off road and absolutely glorious on such a nice day, with the sun making all the autumn colours more vivid. Would it not be possible to cut out the initial loop and make the off road part a bit longer? I thought the parking was well organised and liked the pud rather than another teeshirt. I really enjoyed this event and hope to be back next year. Thanks organisers! Date of review: November 17, 2008
In short: Debut pud last year and a big well done to HRC on a better race this time In full: Living in Heanor like I do and one who spends a lot of time running around Shipley this was a nice course with something for everyone.
Shame about the loop around the industrial estate but without that there would be no pud I guess!
Weather this year helped but much better course than last year, only 7s slower than my PB and don't feel it is a PB course with the nasty finish up from the lake.
Well marshalled as always and the Pud makes a nice change from a t-shirt usually on offer. Date of review: November 17, 2008
