In short: Issue with horses using the briddle at the same time.... :-/ In full: I was starting to dig in on the bridle path at about 8km then some horses were running alongside me. I'll probably upset some equestrians but I think its irresponsible to take a horse into a confined space (the briddle path was set down with hedge banks either side.) I made the choice when a group of horses were coming down the hill and there was a dog walker in between them to stop. It was just to dangerous to stand in-between them all. I wasn't going to get a pb but standing still for 40 seconds while the horses were restless with the dog nearby really ruined the day.
***The organisers need to stop the horse riders using the briddle path during the race. Its a huge safety risk and unfair on the horses being stressed by people running in bright clothing etc nearby.*** Date of review: March 12, 2010
In short: As good as ever a great local 10k race. In full: Credit has to go to Heanor RC for consistantly putting on a good race. The course is a good one tough enough to be challenging but still fast. Good organisation and i will continue to do this for years to come. Date of review: November 16, 2009
In full: Lovely day, didn't mind the first bit round the industrial estate one bit but missed most the scenery of the second half.... too busy avoiding potholes! Why do race organisers always throw a killer hill in right at the end? But then, where would the fun be without it? Hope to be back next year! Date of review: November 16, 2009
In short: Good race In full: Excellent race, well organised, seems a fast course, pity I was nursing injury as it has good pb potential. Finishers xmas pudding was very large, impressive. Other pudding races I have completed over the years only gave tiny puddings. I will be back next year. Date of review: November 15, 2009
