In short: A superbly organised event at a great venue
In full: My 3rd 10k and although it's challenging with 2 fairly steep hills I got a PB.
It was very well marshalled and loads of support throughout the route.
Haslams Rugby club is a great venue to stage the event as my wife and child were well catered for with chips, bacon sandwich, tea and coffee on offer in the club house.
Look forward to entering next year.

In short: Undulating but Scenic Route. Friendly & Welcoming
In full: My 2nd year at this event and the first thing to say is a big thank you to the organisers who rearranged this popular Annual run following bad weather early in July.

This is a 2 lap 10k taking in the lovely village of Darley Abbey and the nearby Darley Abbey Park in Derby. The village and the park is by no means flat thereby making this a challenging course - especially on a windy day like this year's race was.

Great support and encouragement from the village locals and marshalls on route. Decent goody bag, an instant chip timing results service upon crossing the finish line, massage facilities and good use of the Haslams Rugby club bar for a well deserved portion of chips afterwards and a drink at the end.

I would suggest just one area for improvement. About half a km into the park there is a downhill pathed section where you run towards some barrier fencing/posts which you need to zig-zag through to get past. This could be dangerous as runners approach it at speed. There perhaps should be a marshall on hand to warn runners to take care.

All in all a great race and I look forward to returning.

In short: A well organised event with a good atmosphere and a great scenic route.
In full: This was my third 10k and it was very enjoyable. The hill proved to be challenging on the second lap but the flat finish to the course allows you to finish strong. I finished with a PB and feel it is certainly a course for quick times if you’ve thrown in some hill training. Definitely one I will be doing next year!

In short: A scenic and well organised race
In full: This is the first time I did this race, and it was a last minute decision and am so glad I ran this beautiful, scenic but challenging course.
The atmosphere was famtastic especially the 2 guys as you turned the corner onto the grss for the finish. Having 2 x water stations was a good idea too. Definetley will be back next year.

In short: A challenging and well organised race for a great cause
In full: This is a 2 lap course and starts off with a fairly tough uphill climb for the first 1k or so (and therefore you do it again between 5k and 6k) That aside it is a flat and comfortable course with beautiful surrounds, lots of support and good marshalling. This is a well organised and well established race and I'll be back again.

In short: Good race but not a fan of 2 laps
In full: Overall a nice race with a testing hill. Problems with the slippy area as you enter Darley Park (sap) particularly as it was straight after the hill and then the barriers going down the hill slowed you down.
Not a great fan of two lap courses as you tend to create -ve thoughts, e.g. knowing you have got to do that hill again, etc.,.

In short: Great Friday night.
In full: Well organised, friendly and worthwhile event.
It was a bit too hot for me but I enjoyed it all the same. The hill was a bit of a crippler on the second lap though.
Great fun, I'll be back!
