In short: Great tough half marathon
In full: a lot of long hills but also a lot of downhill. Felt hard but that might have been because it was my first half marathon. Nice long sleeved top and great views!

In short: tough half marathon
In full: As half-marathons go, this was challenging, with the difficuly bit being the climb for a few miles on the way back up from Bailiff Bridge to cross over the M62. Views were good though once at the top looking out towards the Pennines.

Organisation was good, and I enjoyed the reading out of runner's names as they got to the finish line. Will definately try and do it again next year.

In short: Wow!, first race ever for me, and I absolutely loved it.
In full: Got a bad stitch at the end of mile 5 on the steep descent, ran it off by the uphill after the ford. Did acheive my PB as its the only thirteen I've run (1hr 48mins and 29 seconds). I exceeded my expectations by a good 12 minutes and I can only put it down to the fantastic support of the marshalls on the way round, as well as all the hard training. The 13th mile was dreadful and still all uphill! I was sore for 3 days, but would most definately do it again. I'll beat you next year Ray!!

In short: My first Half - surely future 13.1 milers can only be easier!!
In full: The organisation was superb - from the greeting at the Community Centre when we arrived to the greeting at the Finish line (even for a 2Hr 17min finisher!), and everything in between. A race for everyone - don't miss it next year!

In short: How tough was that!!
In full: As I remarked to one of the marshalls at the top of the new hill from hell, bet the route designers of this race spend all year pulling wings of flies and lock their naughty kids under the stairs. This is one brute of a race but the glow of satisfaction when you have been there and done it makes it all worthwhile.
Take a bow everyone associated with the organisation, first class in all departments. Will be back next year for more pain.
