In short: A very tough, but enjoyable race In full: This, was my first half marathon, and boy, did I pick a belter. I was told it was tough, and it was. More hill training required. Can't wait to come back and try it again. Date of review: April 28, 2009

In short: Lovely hilly race :o) In full: Nice hills, but probably not as hilly as I was expecting. A good course, well marshalled, friendly people. Lovely cake/tea place in the hall too. A great t-shirt, long sleeved!! Shame it wasnt chip-timed, but not too many runners so not a great difference between clock and Garmin. Date of review: March 19, 2009

In short: Great stuff, friendly and well organised. In full: Unfortunately i didn't do justice to this excellent, well organised half marathon. Didn't help myself by managing to fall over after 3 miles D'OH. Marhalls very encouraging and nice refreshments in community centre after. Will definately be back next year to put things right!! In short: Loved it In full: This was my first half marathon and i entered as part of my marathon training. I had be warned beforehand that it was very hilly but i didn't actually find it that bad.
I think it helps that all my training is done on hills with living in Huddersfield but i can imagine it being tough if you are used to flatter training routes.

In short: Not another hill In full: Living in Sheffield I am used to hill but found this quite tough - maybe better 2nd time as this time i ran most the race thinking you finished as you started and that would have been a long uphill. Stewards were great, parking was good (if you arrived early enough) plenty of street parking and one of the pubs was very kindly letting you use their toilets. I likes the 12.00 start as well. Good t shirt. It made me realise how far i am away from being fit enough for the Edinburgh Marathon ! Date of review: February 18, 2009
