In short: Tough course but well worth doing
In full: When I was milling around the start line and heard the public announcer welcoming someone or other who'd done something like a zillion half marathons and had returned to this one as he thought it was the hardest in the universe, my heart did sink a little! But it wasn't AS tough as I'd then imagined, although the steep descent for the first mile and a bit did mean there was a lot of height to regain, and then lose, and then gain, and lose again, and then gain... Good fun though, and a nice atmosphere to boot. The organisers and marshalls were all very friendly. I don't tend to do many races twice, preferring to try new ones instead, but I would recommend this as a toughie. Only downside of the actual route is there's probably no stretch longer than 0.75miles of 'flat', so getting into a pace and sticking with it is impossible, and that big long (steep) drag up on the main road past the golf course is a little soul destroying!

In short: Once again a great race by Roberttown Roiad Runners
In full: Very well organised, great marshalls, plenty of water (choice of cups or bottle) brilliant finish line commentary and just a few hills!! Been a bit under the weather this week so missed out on a course best by 1 min. Only gripe would be the late start time, an hour earlier would be better

In short: Well organised, challenging and enjoyable HM
In full: It's 2 years since I last ran this race and my memory of it was undulating rather than hilly! I take that back, it is hilly, but not so difficult as to put off beginners and the encouragement from the marshalls is top notch.
The atmosphere is great at the start/finish too.
If only it could be an hour or so earlier so as not to take up as much of the day.

In short: Top notch organisation
In full: Many thanks to the organisers; I can't really think of any improvements they could make. My first Liversedge HM and though it's a challenging course, it's quite enjoyable. There's a long gradual straight uphill between miles 8 and 10 on quite a busy road that seems to go on forever, but otherwise the course is varied enough to keep you interested. There are occasional stunning views, but bits of housing estate and industry as well. No rain, snow or wind so good conditions, and though I didn't get a PB, I got a good time for the terrain. I'll probably be back next year.
