In short: Small, race for fun, good for first timers but poor value for money
In full: Route: nice park path around lakes, windy at times but it is October and open space so no one to blame;)

Organisation: no gun shot at the begenning, just crowd at the starting line, runners were not organised accordingly to times they wanted to achieve. Marshalling ok, route was marked ok. Not too many runners, most of the run I was running behind 1-3 other runners. Not popular race?

Medals; the same for 5k, 10k and 21k, no date on even year on the medal, saving money where they can...

Sport drinks: no water and no sport drinks, at least for 5 and 10k, don't know about half marathoners. Saving moeny again...

£16 for 10k race, £3 for car park + over hour drive: poor value for money.

I am begenning my adventure with running but already did Big 10k in Leicester and Robin Hood Half Marathon, both a lot better organised.

In short: Don't travel to this
In full: I travelled over an hour for the race. It was clear from number pick up that £20 entry was OTT and the large differential in price between the 5k, 10k and half is very difficult to understand. The marshals were interested in marshalling - I pointed to a pair of disinterested marshals that one runner had taken a wrong turn but they didn't even bother to shout her back. And the child marshals at the water table - well, I'm used to someone handing me a cup of water... needless to say that wasn't part of their job description. Medal particularly poor - in fact insulting for 20 quid - and no sports drinks at the end... then again if the aim is profiteering they did that particularly well. Quite easily the worst half I've ever attended and I would urge others not to bother supporting this organisation.

In full: At mile 11 I got lost :-( two arrows on a bridge pointing in opposite directions. Not enough marshall's, organisers didn't care. Kids (marshall's)at water station, laughed when I was asking where I needed to go to complete the last mile. At end organisers said that others found their way back, what was my problem. No appology. I also saw two runners cheating, which would have been easy to do on this course. The medal at the end was very small and cheap looking. Not value for money. I will not do another race with this company again. I was using this to see how fit I was, getting ready for a marathon in the spring :-(

In short: NICE RUN BUT VERY POOR VALUE
In full: I ran the new year and the santa run (half marathons)to keep in shape over christmas in preperation for another series starting in Jan. I had heard some poor reviews previously about ultramarathons other events but it is local to me so thought i'd give it a try. The organisation was ok though. Entry was simple and quick. There was sufficient marshalls, water stations and signage around the course. Its a very low key event good for beginners. The route is reasonably scenic and its pancake flat with good PB potential. It is quite exposed though so if the wind gets up this can make quite a difference. The park is open to the public and i did nearly clobber a few dogs and children along the way but there isnt much that can be done about that really. However, In 7 years of running in events like this these was probably the worst - Sorry. My major gripe with the races was that it was £19 entry each on the day and you get very little for your money. You also have to pay a couple of quid for parking. The medal couldnt have cost much more than £1 each and there was no goodie bag, no prizes, no special medals for winners and runners up etc. No commentry as you pass the half way and finish points. The start and finish point was very lack luster (two small flags). Results are not sorted into age category either. Im sorry if this causes offence to the organisers but it appears that the runs are being used as an opportuntity to make a quick buck rather than trying to create a great event that runners will enjoy. If they want more people to participate, they need to look at what other organisers provide at events and review the pricing.

In short: New Years Day 10K in Country Park
In full: Pleasant enough race with the 10k run over two laps. Did a PB on flat, but cold windy course. Concerned in advance when reading earlier comments on lack of marshals, but found no problem myself (additional marshals at road crossing). Evidence however of rogue runners and now do not trust the race results. (Happy to elaborate further if Organisers reading this)

In short: Nice Scenic Run
In full: I have run here twice now and enjoy the venue cos its flat, i like flat. Very basic race and organised ok. I think it could do with more participants. Managed a PB today so Im pleased despite dodging dogs and kids on trikes. Tbh I only saw two marshals one a the route interchange bit and another directing traffic. Was there more? Anyway, could be a better event in terms of numbers. I would do it again
