In short: good fast run to challenge your PB In full: My first time at running the fleet 10k and will definitely do it again. Good fast course and great potential for beating your PB. Friendly crowed and well organised. We had good weather which helps on the day. A nice medal at the end. A good race for any first time race runners. Date of review: October 28, 2011

In short: Undulating In full: Being somewhat obsessive I 'ran' the route via Google Streetview beforehand and thought "This looks fairly flat" and thus went out at the start accordingly. Be warned those 'mild undulations' will ruin you on the second lap if you leave nothing in the tank and the final 100 metres need a set of cramp-ons! Date of review: October 26, 2011

In short: Good to see it back! In full: Missed this one in 2010 having done it a few times over the years.
In my head it was much flatter than it really is - although it couldn't be called hilly it is undulating, more so on the 2nd lap :)
Would agree that the start line was non-existent, and I do like a chip time that starts from the start - not from the gun. Being picky there though and I really like this race - especially as I always seem to get a PB here! Date of review: October 24, 2011

In short: Great Two Lap Race In full: My wife really likes the two lap format and that the race goes down the high street - she can watch me go past, do the shopping, then watch me go past a second time, do some more shopping, then watch me finish!
I also enjoyed the race - good level of support throughout, decent organisation, enthusiastic marshals, good size field but nice wide roads so plenty of opportunity to run at your preferred pace without getting slowed up too much. Only 14 seconds off a PB as well. Chip timing, bananas, drinks, loads of parking, a lead car with a clock on the roof to give a sense of occasion and decent weather.
The only fault I can pick is that the start/finish lines were not that well defined. The mats for the chip timing were about 20 yards short of the "finish" banner, and I was unclear where the start line was so did not know when to set my watch going.
Definitely will do this next year, if it's on. Date of review: October 24, 2011

In short: Ticks all the boxes. In full: Closed roads with a few small ups and downs to add interest, a medium sized field, lots of support, well organised with plenty of parking and a reasonable entry fee – it ticks all the boxes for me. Other good points include chip timing, a medal, a banana (by the way Well Done to Bananaman who was running) a bottle of water and fast publication of results. Thank you very much to the organisers, the marshals, the volunteers and of course the residents for being patient. It’s great to have this event (aka to us as the Shopping 10k) back on the calendar. In short: Well organised, nice support, fast 10k In full: There was a nice atmosphere down Fleet High Street with a number of people cheering on the runners. The event was well organised, with a central start and finish, and easy access for spectators to see runners several times. It is a generally flat route, with a few undulations in the later part of the route. The 2-lap format is good in that you know what you have to do on the 2nd lap! Date of review: October 23, 2011

In short: Well organised local race In full: I live in Fleet so couldn't not do this one really. It's well organised and the support is good. £10 for chip timing and a medal is good value. It is mildly undulating but nothing too painful, although harder work on the second lap. I got a PB so was happy. Well done to Fleet & Crookham AC and if you ever have problems organising it again, ask your local running clubs like Hart and Cove to help to make sure it happens. We don't want another 2010 with no race. Date of review: October 23, 2011

In short: a Good Race In full: did not see the finish line and had to ask a marshall, i did the Berlin Marathon 4 weeks ago which was disastrous for me and therefore did this Race without proper Training and there was no pressure on me to get a good timings. Everything else was extremely good and therefore i will be back next year to do Better Date of review: October 23, 2011
