In short: Very wet, but great fun In full: Set in the ground of the fantastic grade 1 Coombe Abbey, which dates back to 13th century, the Coombe 8 is reasonably challenging mixed terrain race. The race was impeccably organised and marshalled, despite torrential rain over the last few days necessitating some last minute changes to the course. Limited to 250 this is clearly a favourite on the club circuit and was full well before race day. Date of review: November 26, 2012

In short: Sublime 5 mile race In full: Loved this race and got a PB at this distance for the first time in 3 years. A bit of a tight fast start with the footpath narrowing, but after that it settled down. A definite PB potential and one of the best 5 mile races I have done. Vyer good amount of marshals and most shouted out encouragement which helped. Loved the free handmade cakes at the end and the medal. Worth the journey from Leicester and will be back next year.
