In short: great run just id had more miles in my legs before doing it few more hill reps required me thinks
In full: what a lovely run may even try doing this alone as training need to stop myself walking up the steep bits thought the wind on the way down was a bit unfair thats supposed to be the easy bit ;)

In short: Bloody tough!
In full: Wet weather just before gun went off made for a chilly start. I thought the organisers may have reduced the steepness of the hills, but alas no. Beyond their control apparently!
Masssive range of abilities which always makes for a good race. Nice atmosphere in general. The hill at 4 miles completely saps you, but after that it's mainly flat or down.

In short: the views made up for the hills!!!
In full: My first time in this race but run round here with my club. Thank you to the organisers for going ahead with the race, a bit slippy in places going up but I had a great race and came in well under my est. time.

In short: A great challenging course - welll organised
In full: Thanks to the organisers for allowing this race to go ahead despite the icy patches in places. As adults, I'm firmly of the opinion that we should be responsible enough to make our own minds up unless conditions are really bad.
All in all, this was a 'well above average' race. Pace it right and you could still get a half decent time despite the inclines in the first half. Get your pacing wrong and go out too fast and you'll most likely suffer!! Be warned!!

In short: fell race on the road
In full: I had been out of action for a few months, using this race to fall in love with running again. Great race, challenging 4.5 miles of hills then rest downhill. The roads were icy, but thats what you expect this time of year. Just be careful. The pudding and water at end were welcomed, times printed 30 mins after winner finished. Good value food on offer too. A great annual race.

In short: I was last, but you do get a bigger pudding as consolation!
In full: I was invited to enter by a local who was running, so knew nothing about it until I got there. Thought it was some kind of fun-run with a Christmas Pudding at the end... bit wrong there then. Turned up after doing a night-shift, not having run properly for months, to find all these lean and wiry people running around in sub-zero temperatures in shorts?!? Still, never one to back out of anything I ran the thing- was utter torture particularly the really steep (seemed pretty vertical at the time) hill in the middle. Amazing scenery did help, and there was some nice encouragement from the marshals. Needless to say I came last, but with a massive sense of achievement. Training now, and entering again this year :-)
