In short: Better Pud Than Last Year !! In full: What better way to build up to Christmas than this beast! Up, Up, Up then down - Still can't work out which was easier! Fabulous scenery throughout. Could use a water station at some stage. One of my favourite races! Date of review: December 13, 2005

In short: Lovely country lanes, uphill to halfway, downhill back to finish. Views of distant hills are stunning, especially on a bright, crisp winter's day. Date of review: January 4, 2005

In short: I echo what Flatters has already said. In full: I even found some of the slight downward slopes between the hills a struggle, never gave me time to recover.
And I certainly agree about the strobing effect on the sun through the fence, I was glad when that ended. Date of review: December 19, 2004

In short: It was good weather and the views were great, you just had to run up some big hills to see it! In full: Quite a tough run as it is nearly all uphill for the first 4 miles. Great views when you get up there. It was beautiful weather in 2004 which did mean there was some ice on the road so you had to be careful. The oddest bit was near the end where you run pass a reservoir. It is surrounded by palisade fencing which the low winter sun shines through. When you run past it creates a strobe effect. Could it be an epileptic fit inducer?
Loved the race and would do again.
