In short: One of the most interesting but hardest races in the calender
In full: Very well organised and marshalled even to the point that the start was delayed a few minutes to allow everybody to answer the call of nature. The fun size Mars bar at the 10 mile water station was a welcome suprise especially as it preceded the hardest 3 miles of the course. The spread of ability was good to see (2 hours between first and last) but if speed is your thing, sub 6 miling was needed to win it. Do it next year!

In short: If you've never done this one before, you don't know what you're missing.
In full: A superb race, with good weather (for once), and I managed to stay upright throughout. My feet were mostly dry at the finish, which was abnormal... I've finished this race eight times, and fully expect to be back again in 2006. Come on, Runner's World - this is a must for your top 100 races!

In short: It was a enjoyable but hard course
In full: I would just like to give a big Thank-you to Paul who held my hand along the way. I honestly didn't know what I had signed up for but everyone was kind and encouraging. This enabled me to find the courage to continue even though there were times I wanted to drop down and lie there and give up. So thank-you all at the Benfleet running club. I am eternally grafetul. In short: Superb organisation. Nothing too much trouble.
In full: Bewarned. There is no individual part of the Benfleet 15 that can be recommended. The course is difficult, off-road, takes in Canvey Island and in parts is virtually unrunnable because of the mud. It is the sum of the parts that make the whole experience so different and worth doing.

In short: 15 miles of fun in the mud
In full: Splas through the puddles, slither in the mud, freeze in the wind, wave to the trains!
An outstanding eccentric race with really friendly marshalls.
Could do with a better quality T shirts though (and a few more toilets?)

In short: My legs hurt, my feet are blistered and I felt sick at the end. But I finished and it was great. I will be back next year to beat my time. A race worth running
