In short: 2008 race :Poor organisation at the start but otherwise ok.
In full: In spite of the appearance of oodles of people involved in organisation, the issuing of numbers and chips was ridiculous leading to the run being delayed by 15 mins. I note other runners comments but I arrive 1hr and 30 mins before the start and there was already a lengthy queue!!Those queueing for numbers etc. then traipsed over to the Baggage Drop Off and then queued there..... When the race finally kicked off the marshalls were excellent and very encouraging. I apologise to the one who asked me if I was OK several times. I was struggling with an injured foot and had my IPOD on full blast to try and distract me - thank you for trying to help but I limped round in the end. Goodie Bag was good value -good T Shirt and medal too!! Try sending numbers and chips out rather than saving money by having a small ineffective collection - unless you can process 900 runners more quickly!!!!

In short: quite a toughie constant undulations take their toll eventually. Nice finish at the stadium though and good changing washing facilities.

In short: Start was only blip. Much nicer course than you'd expect. Quite quick.
In full: Very well organised getting to start and great idea having start/finish linked to running track.

Start was just odd, but didn't cause major prob. Nice wide paths and park was enjoyable to run round. Undulating aspect made it more interesting, as did twists and turns, without seeming to slow the place. Liked having the two laps.

Bottles of water would have been far easier to drink from. The quarter cupful just went up my nose!

Well worth doing. Looking forward to next year.

In short: Well organised and friendly race
In full: An enjoyable race on a sunny autumn day. I don't really agree with the other comments about the start - when everyone else starts running you do the same as them. Any hold ups or slow sections sort themselves out over 13 miles.

In short: An enjoyable event - well marshalled with a great finish
In full: This was an enjoyable event for me on an almost entirely traffic free route with scenic parkland thrown in. The marshalls were very good and precise. I liked the finish on the track.

The niggles : I found the start bizarre and lost a lot of ground there. I struggled very badly once underway for the first half mile up on the grass banks getting passed a huge number of other runners at a different pace and one of the water stations happened to get caught napping with every helper refilling just as I went through which was unlucky. Otherwise a very good event. Well done FVS

In short: Well organised and good PB potential
In full: Organisation was generally very good, and the park and ride system worked surprisingly well. The start was confusing though - they really could have done with having expected finish time zones, and a louder way of starting the race. The dull scenery of the dual carriageways was made more pleasant by the laps of the lake. It seems to be a fast course despite the undulations, and I really liked the track finish.
