In short: Found it challenging, but a first 10k experience for me In full: The uphill bits were much harder than I expected, but then it was my first 10k and before today I'd only run 5 miles. There wasn't an obvious start and finish point and I wondered round a bit to find my t-shirt (which is great!) We got there early and did not have a problem with either parking or toilet facilities. The marshalls were fantastic and very encouraging, especially near the end where I was struggling a bit. PB for me as first time, not sure for others, maybe if you don't find the hills a problem. Will definately be trying this one again next year. Date of review: November 13, 2005

In short: good reasonably challenging course. Start too chaotic and narrow. No water at end In full: Good mix of moderate inclines and faster downhill and flat stretches. Start way too chaotic for this number of runners, due to parked cars narrowing the roads on the first 1km. Also age old problem of slower runners positioning themselves to near to the front of the field. Approx. time markers at start would be a good idea for this race. Water would have been welcome at end. Hot showers would also have being welcome, particularly as the entry fee i think was going into the school coffers. But overall enjoyable course, and good value at £5. Date of review: November 21, 2004

In short: WHY HAVE MILE MARKERS ON A 10K PB COURSE? I NEED MARKERS EVERY 1000M TO KEEP TRACK OF MY TIME. MIISED THE 2 MILE ALTOGETHER SO IT FELT A HELL OF A LONG WAY TO MILE 3. Date of review: November 17, 2004

In short: Testing but enjoyable In full: A bit of a scramble for parking spaces by the sound of it but perhaps contingency plans will be introduced for 500+ runners/cars next time.
Overall a splendid effort. Date of review: November 16, 2004
