In short: really good race weather was perfect
In full: only downfall of this was ladies toilets, there was only 1 working, could have been more toilets.

In short: Good race, good friendly atmosphere. Must sort out toilet facilities
In full: Fairly average in terms of toughness. Three modest hills are not bad but make it not generally a pb course. Mostly scenic. A good event to do at this time of year. If better toilet facilities could be sorted I would highly recommend this race.

In short: Cold, dreary day, no motivation.
In full: The first hill at 1 mile, the coking plant and the CO2 fumes from traffic are real killers. Good rural setting. Wasn't really motivated by everything, walked about 2k, yet was only 16secs outside PB !!!!.

In short: I knew the course was tough but the weather and atmosphere made this a special race for me.
In full: For a practical beginner (my 3rd 10K) the reports that this was flat/undulating on the forum thread is mis-leading. The hill past the coking plant makes the legs burn and the last 2 miles are uphill. It's a tough course! Although I PB'd this is not one you would expect to hammer from start to end.
Atmosphere was great and the race was well organised.

In short: Some quibbles but overall good.
In full: There werent near enough toilets for the ladies. I dont mind a bit of a q but I started queueing at 10am and got to the start just in time with people still waiting for the loo. And the traffic on the hill was worrying, coming dangerously close at speed, though I think only runners nearer the back would have noticed, and I realise there's only so much you can do about impatient drivers. Still think we could have been a bit better protected but didnt look behind to see what was going on. Thanks to the 20 stone moron who suggested we go on a diet from his car which he could barely fit in to,who I gave the usual diplomatic response to.
Hills challenging to say the least but not the worst Ive done. Good mix of runners of all abilities so not too threatening for a first timer. And I don't find the tshirt too unpleasant!!
All in all not a bad way to spend a sunday morning.

In short: Enjoyed this, undulating hmmm?
In full: Enjoyed the race, found the last undulation challenging. Will be back next year. Directions from the M1 need to be revamped for next year.

In short: Good honest course
In full: Well organised Barnsley. Starting on the main street obviously adds a bit of traffic spice but vocal marshalling kept everyone aware of the cars.

I did a quick reccy of the finish which helped.
