In short: Great race, well organised, good route
In full: Ran this race in June and it was the same route in Dec, but oh so different to to run it!
Think both are great local races. The numbers have increased from June to Dec, but not too many people.
A couple of steep hills in there, but the descents are great.
So cheap in comparison to other races.
I'll be back for both races next year!

In short: So nice to do an event like this - no timing chips, medals or any other nonsense. Just a friendly run for a fiver, great scenery, and fantastic run (if you like big hills!). Rivals races costing six times as much

In short: Hard but beautiful
In full: I was last for quite a good section of this race, partly because I decided to walk the hills as the description ('run walk or crawl') had convinced me I'd have to, but actually it was no worse than Stoke Row or Toad Hall and I managed those. Still, I was determined to use the energy saved on the downhill and flat sections, and there's a beautiful expansive grass downhill in the middle that's the perfect answer to 'why do you do this?' That's the best section of running I've done anywhere this year. The other downhills are too treacherous to look at the countryside; get distracted for a second and a tree root'll have you flat on your face. I'll definitely be back next year to run the lot!
