In short: COLD - good fun In full: Would have seriously struggled to find race HQ, but was tipped off about where to go beforehand by someone who had done it before. I really enjoyed the run - hills in the first four miles weren't too bad and the marshalls were top-notch all the way round. Another one to return to next year. Date of review: November 18, 2007

In short: Freezing cold, but very enjoyable In full: A very enjoyable race and well marshalled, but the organisation beforehand (ie where to park, sign up) and refreshments after (water tank) were the poorest I've come across in my races this year. Also worried by lack of website information & no results from last year, so will this years be up?
Once I had warmed up after 3 miles, probably my most enjoyable run of the year. Very miled undulations, nothing to burn the lungs. I will be back. Date of review: November 18, 2007

In short: cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey this morning In full: Guidance in all the right places, ergo no problems for the runners on the course who were able to warm up. Unlike the marshals who must have been frozen stiff throughout. On a milder day, it would have been much more pleasant. Date of review: November 18, 2007

In short: Nice enough road course. Not overly challenging, just a few smallish hills. Registration/Start needs better organisation In full: Enjoyed it and got a 10 miler PB. Very windy conditions meant the organisers could not put up their marquee/tent. Consequently registration was out the back of a car. No issue with this but some signage to show where registration was would have been helpful. I got there mega-early so got a parking space but others had problems. The miserable gits that own The Rubbing House pub would not allow use of their car park nor would they host the registration team etc. I sincerely hope all the potential trade that we runners brought went elsewhere for refreshment and scoff after the race. That aside the marshalls were plentiful and very supportive. PLEASE put the results on-line. Date of review: November 18, 2007

In short: A testing 10 miler In full: The race itself was great despite being hard work and not helped by the wind, with friendly marshals and officials.
It is a shame that there is no headquarters as such or shelter from the conditions. I could find little information on the website about the event beforehand, no previous results and had to ask quite a few people where it started and finished when I had parked. Date of review: November 18, 2007

In short: Casual and small race with a few challenging hills bet miles 2 - 4. In full: Very laid back, almost more of a large gathering of training runners. nice loop with a few good hills. Date of review: November 18, 2007

In short: Lovely views, well organised In full: Despite the freezing, windly conditions, this was a great race. Very well organised, loads of friendly, encouraging marshalls. Nice course and not too many cars given most of it was on roads.
Minor personal gripe - not meaning to be ungreatful but a medal would have been better than a pen. I know other runners who do loads of races have tons of medals but for us less frequent racers, we look forward to medals. Date of review: November 18, 2007
