In short: Very undulating course, tough in places but scenic. Enjoyed reading the words of encouragement along the way and seeing some of the marshalls/sponge givers in fancy dress! Date of review: December 1, 2012

In short: Can't fault the race or the organisation In full: First official half marathon for me, so obviously a PB but I was faster than I had been in my 2 training runs despite having a sore knee.
Organisation was very good and the course is undulating but not too hard. Nice touches half way round with the humorous signs to give you a bit of a boost and its great to run downhill to the finish.
Good t-shirt and very competitively priced. Date of review: November 5, 2012

In short: Excellent well organised event In full: One of the best organised half marathons around and although not flat, the downs compensate for the ups. Makes a change to enter a race on the day (personal circumstances meant I couldn't commit until race day) and Worksop Harriers should be proud of all those who helped stage this race. One comment I would like to make is how selfish the lady wearing a Moorlands vest was in deliberately throwing down her empty gel packet on one of the roads within Clumber Park...she should be ashamed of herself in not carrying it to the next water station. In short: Undulating but fast course, great organisation, nice spooky touches... In full: Managed a PB by 2 minutes woohoo! The course is definitely undulating but with nothing too long or too steep. The first mile is the biggest uphill - once that's out of the way it's great running and you get to run down the same hill at the end. The race village is great and friendly with good facilities. The Halloween touches around the course are amusing and usefully placed for detracting from the pain! Date of review: October 30, 2012

In short: up and down route, very well organised and welcoming In full: A friendly very well organised race with an interesting route. No negatives apart from I was a halloween carrot not a pumpkin! Running as a pumpkin would have been silly. Date of review: October 30, 2012

In short: my favourite half marathon in the UK .............. In full: for a small club the organisation of this fantastic event is second to none. This year was my first Worksop Half for 5 years ... it really is my favourite half marathon in the UK !! I will be back next year without any question. I would also reccomend the organisers of the Great North run take a look at the T shirt given to finishers at the Worksop Half ... top quality & brilliant design !!! Date of review: October 29, 2012

In short: Excellent organisation , beautiful scenery in Clumber park. great marshals In full: My second trip to this event and I doubt it will be my last . Its well organised, the course has some hilly areas but nothing too daunting. The marshals and support from them are excellent. One puzzle for me though, for a race which didnt recommend the use of headphones, how is it a man was allowed to run with a pit bull on a leash ? In short: Superb race, lovely scenery, well organised. Funny signs too! In full: This is the third time I have run this race and it's a permanent fixture in the running calendar for good reason. This is an excellent race. It bridges the gap brilliantly between a club race at the front and friendly for beginners at the back. It quickly heads out of Worksop into Clumber park and the majority of the race in in the forest. It's not flat and fast it's undulating but the only real tester is near the start and it's a fast finish. The organisers invest the race fee in a great technical tee rather than all the other useless crap you normally get in goodie bags! Well done on a top race, Worksop. Some so called big events could learn a lot from you. Date of review: October 28, 2012

In short: Excellent Race In full: My first time at Worksop Half and it was a great race. It's an undulating course but I like that, there are no steep hills just lots of long gentle climbs that you can speed down on the other side. I managed a 5 minute PB so it's all good. Great technical t-shirt, poor goody bag (leaflets and a 2 finger kit-kat) but for the price it is truely excellent value, I can't complain. Date of review: October 28, 2012
