In short: First marathon...hopefully not the last! In full: Entered in 2004 as my first marathon. Contrary to some posts it was not that hilly, just one small hill and "the" larger one everyone talks about that destroys you second time round. There is no real atmosphere after one mile when you get out of town, and the last 6 miles is dull at best..all flat down an old railway line. The other problem which puts me off (despite not performing to standard last year as it was soooo hot!), is the fact it is two laps. You're always thinking (like at the big hill), I've got to do this all again in 13 miles! Date of review: February 9, 2005
