In short: Good run, family-friendly day out, but very hot.
In full: I would echo a lot of the comments already made i.e. lovely scenery, fun route, very well marshalled, and good range of facilities for family and runners.

It was very hot on the day, which I appreciate is hard to predict, but: 1) an earlier start would have been good as I started at close to midday which equalled heat and limited shade, 2) an extra water stop in the circumstances would have been very welcome, 3) stores could have included items such as SPF clothing (e.g. high UV buffs), sun block, etc. Having an enduring love for the outdoors and the experience of a melanoma, sun safety feels like an important consideration.

In short: Great Scenery, Great Run
In full: I did this last year & it was great, even better this year (even though i had a bad race). With the weather being as hot as it was it would have been good to have an additional water station. Loads of freebies!!

In short: Hot but loved it!
In full: My first trail run, apart from being really very warm I absolutely LOVED it! Really well organised, all event staff, marshalls etc really helpful and friendly. Loads of freebies is always a winner and the t-shirt was great - i wore it on a club run a few days later and was most comfortable, nice medal and excellent goodie bag! SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!! :D

In short: Most enjoyable, had done it last year and forgotten about the big hill!
In full: I've done this twice now, I came back as I enjoyed the whole event last year, even though I remember struggling, and once again I struggled- a combination of heat and one especially long uphill drag. I would, after all that, still do it again next year, its really well organised and the people running it were really friendly and supportive.

In short: and God was in his heaven....
In full: A beautiful run, wonderfully organised and hosted. One more water stop may have been useful, but it was quite exceptionally hot. The start/finish village with its food, drinks and freebies was a great atmosphere. I enjoyed it all so much I even did the dancy warm-up mularkey at the start - which is not really my scene (expert dad-dancer)
The hot weather made the run very tough, but it also made the before and after very relaxed and on balance I'll take that any day.

In short: Great location, perfect for all the family
In full: Hot, hot, hot!
More up and down than I envisaged from other reviews, but the downs didn't seem to equal the ups even though they would've given the start/finish location.

Good organisation, I think that the organisers could have reacted to the hot conditions and added another water stop as half a plastic cup of water really wasn't sufficient, even with adequate hydration before hand.
Thanks RW for the freebies.

In short: Well organised, good first trail run
In full: Organisation was fantastic, the marshalls cheerful and encouraging which was a helpful bonus. Loved the goody bag and freebies available. The only thing that spoilt it for me was was the organisers couldn't control, the heat.

In short: Beautiful run, great goodies!
In full: The organization of this event was fab; the goody bag was the best I've ever had and the never ending supply of freebies were greatly received. I loved the sheltered bar area where family could wait for the finishers, and the catering was very good.
The race itself was hot as hell, which made it pretty tricky up those steep sections of which there were a few. It was a bit of shame that there weren't bottles of water at the halfway mark, as it forced me to slow considerably in the second half to avoid the dreaded heatstroke. Running with a cup of tepid water didn't really help!
The route was beautiful, incredibly scenic and fairly challenging. No PB's in the heat, but it was worth it for a glorious day out.
