In short: Brilliantly organised, friendly urban race In full: As everyone has suggested, the organisation of this race is first class and other race organisers should really attend to see how to do the little things properly! Marshalls and support on course was fantastic. It is hilly midrace and this year was hot - not a course for PBs. The run in to the finish line was highlight as you snake around the lake with all the supporters lining the park. Will definitely be back in 2017! Date of review: May 20, 2016
In short: Fun and a little hilly In full: Not an amazingly scenic run, but it is Bracknell... The hills were more challenging that I expected, but that makes it a little more interesting! Loads of water stations with sponges, which was great. Most officials are volunteers from different organisations, so some understand running, some don't! My only criticism would be that some of the marshals needed to be more observant of traffic and runners, and more confident to give instructions to drivers. There were a number of road crossings and intersections where runners can't see if there is traffic coming, and assume the marshal will stop any vehicles, but they didn't. That said, some marshals were excellent at it. Date of review: May 16, 2016
In short: A great event and well organised In full: A fantastic event which was well organised. Not the most scenic of courses but it is Bracknell. Good support along the way. Lots of water stations which was great as the weather was very hot! The sponges were needed! I didn't PB but I probably would have had it not been for the heat. The long hill around 8 miles was not much fun, but all in all a decent challenging course and I will look to do this event next-year. Date of review: May 13, 2016
In short: Another excellent event In full: Top marks to the organisers for laying on the extra water stations this year, on a stinking hot day. Excellent race as always; the course is not the most inspiring (it is in Bracknell) but it's pleasant and varied enough. Really good venue, loads of marshals, great medal and generous goody bag. A favourite event! Date of review: May 8, 2016
In short: Try To Tame Harvest Ride At Your Peril! In full: Challenging, all tarmac course. Not one for PBs, with my Garmin reading totalling 109 metres in elevation, 44 metres of which is contained to a 4.2km stretch on Harvest Ride!
Great local race, if lacking the aesthetics of rival courses. Top value, beautiful setting at the start and finish (South Hill Park) and decent, if sporadic, support along the course.
Don't forget to poke your head in the massage tent afterwards for a free leg massage to ease those muscles! Date of review: May 12, 2015
In short: Hidden Gem of a race.. In full: Very well run and friendly race. Good balance of runners of mixed abilities and plenty of room for everyone. Good marshalls and locals out supporting never tired of clapping. Great chunky medal, technical t-shirt and a bag for finishing. Chuck in a Mars Bar and they've nailed it :-) Well done Bracknell Forest Council. See you in 2016. Date of review: May 11, 2015
In short: Superb organisation as always In full: My first half in over 2 years, and despite lack of training am v pleased with my time. Thanks again to all of the organisers and volunteers - a great race, one of my favourites Date of review: May 10, 2015
